George Holt, Director of Performing Arts and Film Programs,is the man behind the successful 17-year run of the North Carolina Museum of Art's outdoor amphitheater, which brings in musical guests from around the country with particular connection to North Carolina and its music. For this, he has earned a 2013 Indies Arts Award.

Abstract:
The International Bluegrass Music Association chose Raleigh to host the next three World of Bluegrass confab beginning in 2013. The state is a suitable host for this major bluegrass event considering some of bluegrass' biggest stars came from North Carolina, such as Earl Scruggs and the late Doc Watson. Also notable is that the first president of the International Bluegrass Music Association was Art Menius was a triangle native.
