Diana Beasley, a biology teacher at Hickory High School, was named the 2006 North Carolina Teacher of the Year in May. Beasley has twenty-four years of experience, seventeen in her current position. She has received several awards and recognitions throughout her teaching career. She received her BS in Science Education from the University of Virginia.
