Abstract:

Hubert Ferrell opened Ferrell Supply Store in 1946. In the spring of 2021, his three granddaughters launched the first Ferrell Supply Market. this new concept, a biannual event occurring each May and October includes fifty vendors selling a variety of merchandise and offering the community a wat to shop and socialize in a relaxed setting.

Abstract:

Honeybees pollinate $15 billion dollars of crops in the United States annually. Featured bee keepers in this article include Cole's Farm in Onslow County, Wayne Rose in Washington County and Jim Hartman in Linden. All agree that the biggest threat o bees are varroa mites.

Abstract:

North Carolina ranks 5th in the United States in watermelon production. Of more than 1,200 watermelon varieties, the vast majority are grown in North Carolina. Seedless watermelons were developed back in 1951. Noted in the article are the current watermelon festivals in the state and several farms devoted to watermelon production; namely, LizCo Farms in Rocky Mount, Howell Farming company in Goldsboro and Murfreesboro Farms.
