When the city of Belmont created its own home page on the World Wide Web in the fall of 1995, it became the first city in Gaston County to do so. The web site includes key phone numbers, contact people, and area maps.

Local governments are utilizing World Wide Web home page resources in a variety of ways, including receiving citizen feedback on topics and providing government information. A sampling of local government home pages is provided.
