Charlotte Pipe and Foundry is one of North Carolina's largest privately held companies, employing a workforce of 2700 across 10 plants in eight states. This includes 530, who work in the new location in Oakboro in Stanly County. Plastics now represent about 60 percent of the firm's business, while the remaining 40 percent focuses on iron pipes.
