Constructed in 1929 as the home of industrialist James G. Hanes, the house has served the Southeastern Center for Contemporary Art since 1977 as a visitors center and gathering spot. It is currently being reimaged to serve programming for today's visitors. The Hanes House is located on 750 Marguerite Drive in Winston-Salem
