[Orville Wright Glider Flights - Cyanotype #13], 1911

Orville Wright in the midst of the longest glider or soaring flight of his career--a new world record that stood unsurpassed for longer than a decade. While the picture caption reads "Making the record flight--10 min 1 sec"--evidently in Drinkwater's hand writing, Orville recorded in his diary on 24 October 1911 that the flight was actually 9 minutes and 45 seconds.
