The Promise is performed at the Texas
Amphitheatre, an impressive Greco-Roman
structure which provides a sprawling backdrop
for the epic drama of Christ’s life. Audiences are
awed by the majestic settings, authentic
costumes and an array of live camels, sheep and
horses. The Promise is a glorious, exhilarating
experience, unmatched in grandeur and
spectacle by any other religious production.

The Promise began with a vision that the life of
Christ could be dramatized in a way that the
audience could personally experience the
wonder, majesty and power of the events of His
life. The result is a production that has made
Him real to literally millions around the world
since its premier in 1989.

The audience shares the experience of a
grandfather and his grandchildren as they hear
the timeless story retold, while seeing it come to
life on the stage. They meet Mary and Joseph
who are on their way to Bethlehem. The
grandchildren and the grandfather watch in
amazement as Jesus heals the sick, raises the
