Honor and “A” grade inmates may write not more than 3 letters each week; B” grade inmates Paez not more than 2 letters twice each month; '"C"’ grade inmates not more than one letter once each month. All persons authorized to write regularly to inmates will be so notified by them. Mail from other persons, other than legal or official correspondence, will be returned to the sender unles special permission has been granted in advance. Letters to inmates must be written in English on one side only of two single sheets, about 8” by 11". Sender's full name and address must appear on all letters. Inmate's full name and number must be used in addressing the en- velopes. Money should be sent by money order or check. All inmate mail, incoming and out going, will be opened and read by a prison officer. Mail will be returned to sender when regulations are violated. Per- sistent violations will be cause for suspension of the mail priviledge. Only the following items may be mailed to an inmate: socks, handkerchiefs, underwear, white or grey sweat shirts, work gloves, pocket-sized photographs not framed, authorized material for craftsmanship work, musical instruments Cwhen approval secured in advance), clothing to be used upon release Cif sent within 15 days of release date). Other items received will be returned to sender at the inmate's expense, or impounded, or destroyed. In addition to the above items the following items may be delivered io an in- mate on visiting days: home-cooked foods, fruits, tobacco products and candy. All items must be surrendered to prison officials for inspection and, if approved, later delivered to the inmate. SUMMARY OF VISITING REGULATIONS The names of all persons authorized to visit an inmate regularly must be on the inmate's approved list. No other person may visit unless special permission is obtained in advance from the officer in charge of the unit. Inmates will inform their visitors concerining regulations controlling visits to them. All visits will be at visiting rails by the fence, except during bad weather and then visits may be allowed in the mess hall. No child under the age of fifteen may be allowed to enter the prison confines at any time. Regular visit- ing time for Honor and “A” grade inmates is one hour, however, the officer in charge may grant extension up to three hours for Honor grade inmates and up to two hours for ‘A’ grade inmates to visit at the fence. ‘B’’ grade inmates are limited to an hour of visiting once a month; "C’’ grade inmates may be allowed a single visit of 30 minutes once a month. When necessary to accom- modate all authorized visitors, the officer in charge may reduce the time per- mitted each visitor. The schedule for visiting at the different units is as follows: Central Prison—Honor and “A” Grades: Between 9:00 and 11:30 AM, and between 1:00 and 4:00 PM, on the Ist and 3rd Sundays of each month for white inmates, and on the 2nd and 4th Sundays for colored. ‘’B’” and “C’’ Grades: Ist Sunday only for white inmates. 2nd Sunday only for colored inmates. Women’s Prison—Between 1:00 and 4:00 PM, on the Ist and 3rd Sundays for white inmates, on the 2nd and 4th Sundays for colored inmates. Caledonia Farm—Between 1:00 and 4:00 PM, on the Ist and 3rd Sundays for male inmates, on the 2nd and 4th Sundays for female inmates. Youth Center & Other Units—Between 1:00 and 4:00 PM, on the Ist and 3rd Sundays of each month. Other Units—Between 1:00 and 4:00 PM, on the Ist and 3rd Sundays of each month.
