I have today had the pleasure of reading, for the first time, your

book Weep No More, My Lady through the courtesy of a friend who
loaned it to me Rafter having received it himself only a day or
two before. Besides the many truths contained in it, I was inter-
ested in a quotation ascribed to one Martin Gary, a Confederate
Brigadier from South Carolina. My Grandfather served in Trenholm's
Squadron, Gary's Brigade, 7th South Carolina Cavalry attached to
Hampton's Legion for the last year or so of the war. I have never
seen Gary mentioned anywhere, but was wondering if this was the

same man. I feel sure it must be.

Your book is so good that I would like to have my own copy for
re-reading and future reference so am enclosing my check in the
amount of $2.00 for the cloth bound, autographed edition.

It was a pleasure to read and Oh! How true. If only those bleeding
hearts and do-gooders would, for one time in 97 years, get out of
our hair: We still feel the effects.of. the defeat:we suffered in
1865 and it has been, as you say, only by our own bootstraps that
we have lifted ourselves and made the progress that we have,

Congratulations on your booklet. It should be required reading for
everyone,
