Dear Mom:

Virgie and I were shocked to read in the Stars and Stripes that Bob

had passed away, We were so fond of him and always felt that he played
a great part in my being a general officer today. We are at the end of
the line here in Iran and never seem to get the news up to date.

Virgie and I offer our condolences to you and the entire Sink
Family.
