FINANCE OFFICER ADJUTANT PITT COUNTY ERNARIAKJIES = POST No. 39 GREENVILLE, NORTH CAROLINA Meeting of the Lxecutive Committee. Held in the office Paul A. Scott August 26th, 1943. The meeting was called to order by the Commander. The Commander presented Legionnaire K. B.Pace who read a magazine article relating to a bill before Congress which would socialize medical services throughout the country by increasing the social security tax now paid on wages. It was thought that this would be a bad thing for the nation and upon motion by Coy Forbes the Commander was directed to appoint a committee to drawm up a resolution to be presented to the Legion at their next meeting for their consideration. The Commander appointed on this committee A. B. Corey and James R. Worsley. The Commander stated that the Legion now had a Home Purchase Fund of $1253.40 and that we could buy the Skinner property in front of the Memorial Babist Church. Upon motion it was agreed to ask the Chairman of the Home Committee to call a meeting of his committee to meet Tuesday night at the office of the adjutant to consider what might be done and to have a meeting of the Executive Committee immediately thereafter. The Commander added F. M. Stokes as a member of the Home Committee. There being no further business the meeting adjourned. Those present were, eee. Scott, A. B.
