Color copy of tinted photograph of John B. Christenbury for whom Christenbury Memorial Gymnasium at ECU is named. The Gymnasium was built as a memorial to Christenbury and all alumni who died in WWII while serving in the U.S. Army. Christenbury (born in 1907) died on July 1, 1944, in an explosion at Port Chicago, California.
Color photograph of Rear Admiral William M. A. Greene in uniform. He died December 8, 2007, at the age of 87. Besides his over 31 years of naval service, he was also executive director of the N.C. State Ports Authority. He was also a graduate of East Carolina Teachers College (now ECU) and inducted into the ECU Athletic Hall of Fame.
