No date that must be done by. CONSERVATION NOTE: Return to Pres/Con when finished. Caution, there are some loose items and pages are very brittle. Tape was resistant to all solvents attempted. Item 'cooked' inside the walls of a sorority house for a number of years before being discovered and coming into collection.

Fifth Street, Greenville, North Carolina, by the donor when she was living there in 1970. In deteriorating condition, the scrapbook contains photographs of children, the Ficklen house, and a cemetery plot covered in flowers. Also included are clippings about the drowning of Edward Bancroft Ficklen, Jr., and Brodie Hicks in 1914 as children; a report card, certificate of merit, and a homemade spelling book belonging to E. B. Ficklen, Jr.; and a handwritten poem about death and youth. |
