Offline Note
A patron wants this ledger scanned so his family can obtain a printout that can be bound. I thought we might as well scan it so it can be linked to the finding aid for everyone's benefit. We can discuss the cost of the printouts with him after it has been digitized. Please let me know when digitization has been completed and the cost of printouts. The box containing this ledger is on the hold shelf in Manuscripts and Rare Books. The status in Aeon needs to be changed from on hold for Glen Peterson to checked out to Digital Collections.

A ledger book (1837-1850) of Samuel Rowell (grandfather of Samuel James Rowell) contains birth and death records, general store accounts, tavern or inn records, records of slaves, and comments on the weather, planting of crops, and production of turnpentine. The tavern or inn records include accounts for alcoholic beverages, lodging, and livery stable service.
