This pamphlet was actually published by a developing firm in an attempt to sell land in Dare County, or what they elegantly term Virginia Dare Shores. Most remarkable, are the vivid sepia images and the eloquent descriptions of the geography, climate, and history. The book includes excerpts from Hakluyts written accounts of the Lost Colony, one of John Whites rare maps, and an excellent overview of exactly what the Virginia Dare Trail is and where it goes. According to World Cat, East Carolina Universitys Joyner Library is currently the only library in the world that holds this wonderful engaging work.
