Orville Wright and Alex Ogilvie make adjustments to 1911 glider in same photo as CY05 above (which see). This photo has inscriptions on front and back which are almost illegible. The rear inscription seems to be, Orville Wright (left) and Alexander Ogilvie (right) tuning up glider used at Kill Devils Hill NC, on site of first flight and learning innermost secrets of aeronautics.
Orville Wright and Alex Ogilvie assembling the 1911 glider. Note that neither the balding Orville nor Ogilvie is wearing protective hatsa rare omission at Kitty Hawk. The typed inscription is Early type of Wright glider at Kitty Hawk. Photo [must] be returned to D. V. Meekins [possession?]. Meekins name was scratched out and replaced with that of A. W. Drinkwater, Manteo, NC. Meekins was a colorful photographer and newspaper reporter.
