The Meadows, a plantation on the Neuse River in Wayne County, North Carolina, home of Colonel John Thomas Kennedy (1824-1913). The drawing has the initials JMK, and is dated 1895. It is believed to have been drawn by James Matthew Kennedy, grandson of Colonel John Thomas Kennedy.
