Cancelled because of damage. Two tapes removed from request #2824 because they require preservation treatment to be digitized.

The tapes (0806-b29-fb, 0806-b36-fl) are exhibiting symptoms of over absorption of moisture. Justin and Larry are working on removing the moisture through a desiccant absorption technique.

--------->>> These tapes can not be digitized, the different treatments were unable to provide enough stability to the tapes to be able to transfer any information off them. <<<--------- Original request: https://digital.lib.ecu.edu/request/view/2824.

# PID Identifier Title Date Description
1 65483 0806-b29-fb Wilder Talks about his Formal Music. Morning Edition (12/26/80). 7 1/2 Tail Out 12/26/80
Tape to be digitized before going back in the freezer on the 3rd floor. Fetch # 3328...This magnetic tape has glue shed making it very difficult to digitize. It also has sticky shed syndrome making it even more difficult due to it disintegrating every time you try to play it. Justin and Larry administered a drying out treatment with descant packs for a few weeks to see if that could remedy some of the moisture this tape has absorbed. The treatment did lessen the moisture but the glue shed seems to be to bad to compete digitization still.
