Per UNC specs:
Scan Mode: Scans should be in grayscale or continuous tone mode. However, we can, if necessary, convert color scans to grayscale.
Minimum Size of Scan: No smaller than 5" wide for a standard book (this is most common) with a trim size of 6 1/8" x 9 1/4".
Resolution: Scans of photographs be should scaled to meet the minimum size above, and should be made with a minimum resolution of 300 pixels per inch (ppi).
File Type: Scans should be saved as .psd (photoshop) or .tif (TIFF) format files,
