NCLR Art Editor Diane Rodman went Thursday or Friday to Special Collections to look at Joyner’s original John Lawson, Voyages of the Carolinas for possibly using some of the illustrations with some new Fred Chappell verse in our next issue. We would now like to ask if you would provide high resolution (at least 300 dpi .tif or .jpgs) of the whole image featuring several of his animals (attached, from pg. 181 of the book) at 5x7 (though if that’s too large, 4x6 would likely work) and then of the following individual illustrations (Diane has provided pg #s from the Lawson book), 300 dpi at 3x5 or 4x6:
Buffulo (p. 115)
Wild Cat on Fallow-Deer (p. 118)
Fox Squirrel and Rattle-Snake (p. 120 – ? hard to read)
Possum (p. 120)
Rattle-Snake and Land-Terebin (p. 133)
Raccoon and Crabs (p. 121)
