The<lb />following decisions were made.<lb /><lb />1. the Board approved a $50,000 expenditure for a research project.<lb />The a is to be headed by Dr. K. B. Absolon.<lb /><lb /><lb /><lb />2. Approval was "given 'for the hospital's participation in a civil<lb />defense project by agreeing to be responsible for a packaged<lb />disaster hospital designed to take care of 200 people.<lb /><lb />3. The Board took under consideration the proposal received from<lb />the Executive Committee of the medical staff regarding an enmr<lb />| geney receiving hospital. This was tabled by the Board until<lb />more definite information is available regarding the availability<lb />of such service at Northwest Texas Hospital.<lb /><lb />PROGRESS OF EXPANSION PROGRAM<lb /><lb /><lb /><lb />The request for $1,000,000 of Hill-Burton funds was denied. This will not retard<lb />our plans for expansion. The architect hopes to have the plans completed by the<lb />end of May this year.<lb /><lb />MEDICAL RECORDS DEPARTMENT TO BE TRANSFERRED TEMPORARTLY<lb /><lb /><lb /><lb />The medical records department will be located on the south end of 2B. This change is<lb />necessitated by the expansion of the Xray department into what is now medical records.<lb />When renovation is completed side aaa records will be housed permanently on what is.<lb /><lb />now 1B.<lb /></p>

For example q 8 hours rather than t.i.d.<lb /><lb />The q 8 hour schedule would ba: 1:00 a.m. - 9:00 a.m. - 5:00 p.m.<lb />The t.i.d. schedule would be: 9:00 asm. ~- 1:00 p.m. - 5:00 p.m.<lb /><lb />AMENDMENT TO BY-LAWS<lb /><lb /><lb /><lb />Change Subsection 3, Section V., "The Courtesy Staff", page 11 to read as follows:<lb /><lb />Subsection 3.<lb /><lb /><lb /><lb />The Courtesy Medical and Dental Staff should be appointed in the game manner<lb />as provided for the Active Medical and Dental Staff. With the exception of<lb />physicians or dentists who have practiced in this community less than two<lb />years, application for continuation of courtesy membership on this staff<lb />will not be considered unless the applicant can show that he is an active<lb />member of the staff of an approved hospital in this area.<lb /><lb />To be voted on at the next General Staff meeting on May 27, 1968.</p>
