P., BRASIL<lb /><lb />3rd November 1967<lb /><lb /><lb /><lb />Dr.Karel B.Asolon<lb />2714 West 10th Street<lb />Amarillo, Texas, U.S.A.<lb /><lb />Dear colleague Doctor Absolon,<lb /><lb />I am receiving the reprints you sent me today. Thank<lb />you for this kind sending.<lb /><lb />As I told you before I devote most of my leisure time<lb />to the reading of history of medicine. I always was a good reader<lb />that in the last years was so to say forced to stay in a chair and<lb />Spare his strengh for the working hours to come. By doing so I deve-<lb />lopped a good library on the history of medicine which delights me<lb />a lot. As a surgeon I have many books written by the surgeons of the<lb />past, among them, some of Billroth himself. I also have travelling<lb />along the old world and visited some of his places of work and saw<lb />inclusive the specimen of his first gastric operation, in Vienna,<lb />receiving a photo of it. If you will this material for your book<lb />with the necessary explanations it will be a pleasure to me to help<lb />you. As you know very well, Theodor had a rich, colorful and varied<lb />correspondence since his youth with many outstanding people of his<lb />future life and I have many of these letters.<lb /><lb />Concerning his brother in Rio, I will try to do my best<lb />for you. I just ask you some time for that.<lb />Very Sincerely yours,<lb /><lb />Please answer me.<lb /></p>
