<p>June 27, 1968<lb /><lb /><lb /><lb />Dr. H. F. Lenhardt, Director of Medical Affairs<lb />Maricopa County General Hospital<lb />3435 West Durango St.<lb />Phoenix, Arizona<lb /><lb />Dear Harry:<lb /><lb />Many thanks to you and your "search committee" for the<lb />very nice reception in Phoenix. I am quite intrigued by the<lb />great challenge and potential of your hospital for the future.<lb />I hope you don't mind waiting for my elaboration on the program<lb />that I would like to suggest.<lb /><lb />In general I would say that the organization must consist<lb />of three steps: (1) Intiially, a consolitation of the present<lb />set-up, (2) Further development such as cardiovascular expan-<lb />sion and (3) Development of experimental laboratory, etc.<lb /><lb />I expect to be in Phoenix in a few weeks, and I will of<lb />course let you know the date and send the "program" that I would<lb />like to suggest ahead of time. I would be very glad to present<lb />at such time a topic as (1) Esophageal replacement (2) Dir-<lb />ect coronary surgery, (3) a historical topic.<lb /><lb />I was privileged by the way to receive from Dr. Waddell,<lb />Professor of Surgery at the University of COlorado, an invita-<lb />tion as "visiting Professor" soemtime this winter.<lb /><lb />Many thanks again!<lb /><lb />Sincerely,<lb /><lb />KBA:elg Karel B. Absolon, MD.<lb /></p>
