        <p>January 5, 1966<lb /><lb /><lb /><lb />Dr. Aldo Costoneda<lb />University of Minnesota Hosp.<lb />Minneapolis, Minn.<lb /><lb /><lb /><lb />Dear Aldo<lb /><lb />I reamed out the outflow tract of the patient I talked to<lb />you about and excised an abortive leaflett from the p. valve.<lb />The patient did quite well postoperatively + the saturation<lb />was 88% at time of discharge. Obviously still shunting but<lb />elinically looks good and pink. I could push a Hegar dilator<lb />12mm, but an outflow patch may have helped. While resecting<lb />the infundibulum at the septum I made a communication with<lb />the aortic sinus and had to close it.<lb /><lb />This week I have an aortic and mitral valve and a septum<lb />primum. I hope things are going to develop for Minnesota<lb />again, I thank you for your suggestions and good luck in the<lb />New Year.<lb /><lb />Sincerely<lb /><lb />Karel B. Absolon, M.D<lb /><lb />KBA:bc<lb /></p>
