Absolon.<lb />Department of Surgery, University od Minnesota<lb />Minneapolis, Minnesota.<lb /><lb />Dear Dr. Absolon :<lb /><lb />I am assistant in the Department of Surgery of the Tokyo Medical<lb />and Dental University and am very much interested in obtaining a re-<lb />search position in the Surgical field.<lb /><lb />I was born in Hokkaido, Japan, on Oct. 2, 1929. I studied medi-<lb />cine at the Tokyo Medical and Dental University School of Medicine<lb />from which I was graduated and received the degree of M.D. in 1956.<lb />Subsequently I served for one year as a rotating intern in the Hos-<lb />pital of the same university. Having passed the National Board Exa-<lb />mination, I was admitted to the Department of Surgery of the Tokyo<lb />Medical and Dental University as an assistant. The chairman of the<lb />Department is Prof, Kenkichi Kawashima. I have since been working in<lb />this department, I have been performing operations and carrying out<lb />examinations in surgical pathology, and have done experimental research<lb />work on the extra-corporeal circulation and transplantation. I have<lb />published fifteen papers. I received the degree of " Igakuhakushi "<lb />( Doctor of Medical Science ) in 1961.<lb /><lb />I have long desired to work on the problems of transplantation of<lb />the liver in a laboratory such as yours, where original work has been<lb />constantly produced. Prof. Kawashima suggests that I ask you for a<lb />position in your Hospital. I would be greatly obliged to youif you<lb />would be kind enough to let me know whether there will be an opening<lb />for me.<lb /><lb />Sincerely yours,<lb /><lb />Toshio Miyakufi, M.D.<lb /></p>
