<p>June 29, 1967<lb /><lb /><lb /><lb />Dr. Walton Lillehei<lb />Professor of Surgery<lb />Uhiversity of Minnesota<lb />Minneapolis, Minn.<lb /><lb /><lb /><lb />Dear Walt<lb /><lb />Enelosed is a 16 mm reproduction of a fev of the coronary angiograms<lb />that I started doing here, I thought that you may want to see it,<lb /><lb />I am using now a 35 mm camera, this one is reduced to 16 mm, it<lb />shows normal and obstructed coronaries, including one case that<lb />shows an internal mammary inplant. The most interesting case I<lb />was able to get on spot films shows rather well the communications<lb />which develop with the patients coronary vessels. I shall<lb />forward you a copy as soon as the photogravher gets done with it,<lb /><lb />I am interested in the angiographic anatomy of the cardiac veins<lb />and the coronary sinus. Did anyone do any work on this? In the<lb />film there are two good strips of this, I also have now a patient<lb />with 2 internal mammary inplants in whom I excised an anterior<lb />myocardial infarction and who is doing very well. Could you let<lb />me know or one of your fellows what the problem is with vein<lb />inplants and the results? I would appreciate the movie back when<lb />you are done with it. I am preparing a paper on the internal<lb />mammary inplants, I wonder if I could send it to you for corrections.<lb />Do you know about a reference coneerning inplants with a excision<lb />of an infarction?<lb /><lb />I am still hopeful to get back into a situation where I could<lb />combine clinical surcery with teaching and research, You know<lb />that the reagons I left Minnesota just as you are doing now<lb />was due to the sad state of affairs that were developing, however<lb />much I wanted to continue working on the many unfinished problems<lb />at intrigued me. You know that I am fairly multifacceted even<lb />though now I am doing a bit of cardiovascular - thoracic work,<lb />I am pretty successful at it, I have a number of good valves going<lb />and the income is pretty good over her but I lack the rest -<lb />serious research and teaching.<lb /><lb />I know how much of the credit of my clinical success goes to you.<lb />Please do let me know if you should hear about anything. I of<lb /></p>
