<p>Oetober 20, 1967<lb /><lb />William Klingensmith, M.D.<lb />6 Medical Drive<lb />Amarillo, Texas<lb /><lb /><lb /><lb />Dear Bill<lb /><lb />Enclosed is a very thin historical paper that I thought you may<lb />want to have; you however won't offend me at all if you should<lb />throw it into the wastepaper basket.<lb /><lb />I have given some thought to the balance of your effort to<lb />expedite an education program at West Texas Hospital. It occurred<lb />to me that a slightly larger group such as the forum of the<lb />Surgical Society could be beneficial to your effort. You clearly<lb />must get into it also the "parlamentarians" a'la Wadill and<lb />Pickett and Duke, etc., and then have it presented as a collaborative<lb />effort - even though you may have done most of the ground-work,<lb /><lb />It appeared to me that most of those who voted "nay" were in<lb />agreement with the principle of strengthening the organizational<lb />structure and I do not feel that you should feel entirely depressed.<lb />The structure of all the three hospitals should be streamlined in<lb />my opinion to give to the educational effort at least a semblance<lb />of conrruitys<lb /><lb />Please do accept these remarks in the spirit that I wrote them<lb />down, realizing that I am much a novice in such community medical<lb />affairs.<lb /><lb />Sincerely<lb /><lb />Karel B, Absolon, M.D.<lb /><lb />KBA:bc<lb /><lb />Enc:<lb /></p>
