<p>UNIVERSITY OF Minnesota<lb /><lb /><lb /><lb />MEDICAL SCHOOL<lb />DEPARTMENT OF SURGERY * MINNEAPOLIS, MINNESOTA 55455<lb /><lb />May 4, 1966<lb /><lb /><lb /><lb />Dear Colleague:<lb /><lb />This letter has by now become an annual affair. It is sent to you for two purposes.<lb />First, it is time to dun you again for dues to the Owen H. Wangensteen Surgical<lb />Education Foundation fund, and secondly, it is an announcement of the date and<lb />time of the Annual Wangensteen Foundation Dinner in San Francisco during the<lb />meeting of the American College of Surgeons. Your assessment is $25.00.<lb /><lb />The annual dinner is scheduled for Tuesday evening, October 11, 1966, from<lb />6:00 to 10:00 p.m. It will be held in the Gold Room of the Fairmont Hotel. As<lb />you know, all of the residents from the Department who will be in San Francisco<lb />have been invited to attend the dinner free of charge. Thus, the cost of the dinner<lb />for each of us will be $10.00 per person. Hopefully, we will be able to have a<lb />free bar again this year which will start one and a half to two hours prior to the<lb />dinner. Naturally, Dr. Wangensteen will be present at the dinner and as usual,<lb />has expressed the hope that he can see as many of his former residents as<lb />possible.<lb /><lb />Enclosed with this letter you will find a card upon which you can put down whether<lb />you will or will not attend the dinner. We would appreciate your check for the<lb />dinner in addition to the check for the assessment. We must find out approximately<lb />how many people are planning to attend the dinner in order to inform the hotel<lb />management regarding serving of food, etc.<lb /><lb />Looking forward to seeing you in San Francisco in the Fall.<lb /><lb />Sincerely yours,<lb /><lb />Arnold S. Leonard, M. D.<lb />Secretary-Treasurer,<lb />Owen H. Wangensteen Surgical<lb />Education Foundation<lb /><lb /><lb /><lb />ASL/bjh<lb /><lb />Enclosure: Reply Card<lb /></p>
