Dear Colleague:
This letter has by now become an annual affair. It is sent to you for two purposes.
First, it is time to dun you again for dues to the Owen H. Wangensteen Surgical
Education Foundation fund, and secondly, it is an announcement of the date and
time of the Annual Wangensteen Foundation Dinner in San Francisco during the
meeting of the American College of Surgeons. Your assessment is $25.00.
The annual dinner is scheduled for Tuesday evening, October 11, 1966, from
6:00 to 10:00 p.m. It will be held in the Gold Room of the Fairmont Hotel. As
you know, all of the residents from the Department who will be in San Francisco
have been invited to attend the dinner free of charge. Thus, the cost of the dinner
for each of us will be $10.00 per person. Hopefully, we will be able to have a
free bar again this year which will start one and a half to two hours prior to the
dinner. Naturally, Dr. Wangensteen will be present at the dinner and as usual,
has expressed the hope that he can see as many of his former residents as
possible.
Enclosed with this letter you will find a card upon which you can put down whether
you will or will not attend the dinner. We would appreciate your check for the
dinner in addition to the check for the assessment. We must find out approximately
how many people are planning to attend the dinner in order to inform the hotel
management regarding serving of food, etc.
