<p>|<lb /><lb />The ELECTRONIC MUSIC REVIEW<lb />Electronic Music Studio<lb />Tape Distribution Service<lb /><lb />THE INDEPENDENT ELECTRONIC MUSIC CENTER, INC.<lb />| Trumansburg, New York 14886, U.S.A.<lb /><lb />Reynold Weidenaar, Resident Director<lb />Robert A. Moog, Technical Advisor<lb /><lb />June 16, 1966<lb /><lb />Electronic Music Studio<lb />Tulane University<lb />New Orleans, Louisiana 7011?<lb /><lb />Dear Sirs:<lb /><lb />Enclosed is a questionnaire which the IEMC is distributing to<lb />all electronic music studios. We ask that each recipient answer by<lb />september 20, 1966. The results of this survey will be published<lb />as a complete directory of electronic music studios in the first<lb />issue (January 1967) of the ELECTRONIC MUSIC REVIEW.<lb /><lb />Also enclosed is the list of studios receiving this question-<lb />naire. We would appreciate your response to the requests prefac-<lb />ing this list.<lb /><lb />Other enclosures consist of a copy of the IEMC prospectus and<lb />a copy of "Information for Contributors to the ELECTRONIC MUSIC<lb />REVIEW." In case anyone at your studio would be interested in con-<lb />tributing material to the REVIEW, I should mention that the final<lb />deadline for submission of manuscripts for the first issue is<lb />september 1, 1966.<lb /><lb />The IEMC is furthermore engaged in the process of establish-<lb />ing an electronic music tape distribution service. In the event<lb />that you would be interested in distributing tapes through the<lb />IEMC, please inform us what duplication, distribution, and per-<lb />formance restrictions, conditions, etc., you would wish to have<lb />placed on your tapes. We are presently gathering such regulations<lb />from various sources to incorporate them into several regulatory<lb />codes which will govern the different levels of distribution: to<lb />electronic music studios, to radio stations and organizations, to<lb />educational institutions, to concert organizations, and to the<lb />general public. The codes will be enforceable by means of requir-~<lb />ing each prospective purchaser to sign a legal contract agreeing<lb />to abide by the code governing the particular tape(s) he wishes<lb />to obtain. In case of an infraction the IEMC would therefore be<lb />in a position to initiate a lawsuit.</p>

        <p>The IEMC would appreciate receiving the addresses of elec-<lb />tronic music composers who might not presently be contacted<lb />through a studio, and also the addresses of other persons<lb />interested in electronic music.<lb /><lb />Finally, should you desire to receive additional copies of<lb />any of the enclosed materials, please feel free to request same.<lb />Your studio will automatically receive a copy of the first issue<lb />of the REVIEW.<lb /><lb />Sincerely,<lb /><lb />[ ypeeb/ Whederar<lb /><lb />Reynold Weidenaar<lb />Resident Director<lb /><lb />RW/ng<lb /><lb />Enclosures</p>
