<p>The ELECTRONIC MUSIC REVIEW<lb />Electronic Music Studio<lb />Tape Distribution Service<lb /><lb />THE INDEPENDENT ELECTRONIC MUSIC CENTER, INC.<lb />Trumansburg, New York 14886, U.S.A.<lb /><lb />Reynold Weidenaar, Resident Director<lb />Robert A. Moog, Technical Advisor<lb /><lb />Suly 1, 1966<lb /><lb />TAPE DISTRIBUTION SERVICE: INFORMATION FOR COMPOSERS<lb /><lb />The IEMC is now engaged in the preliminary phase of receiving<lb />from composers suggested regulations governing tape distribution.<lb />In the event that you would be interested in distributing tapes<lb />through the IEMC, please inform us what duplication, distribu-<lb />tion, and performance restrictions, conditions, etc., you would<lb />wish to have placed on your tapes. Such regulations will be in-<lb />corporated into several regulatory codes which will govern the<lb />different levels of distribution: to electronic music studios, to<lb />radio stations and organizations, to educational institutions, to<lb />concert organizations, and to the general public. The codes will<lb />be enforceable by means of requiring each prospective purchaser<lb /><lb />to sign a legal contract agreeing to abide by the code governing<lb />the particular tape(s) he wishes to obtain. In case of an infrac-<lb />tion, the IEMC would therefore be in a position to initiate a law-<lb />suit.<lb /><lb />Composers will also be able to have scores distributed along with<lb />their tapes. The IEMC is equipped to reproduce scores (maximum<lb />page dimensions 39" x") by the diazo (blueprint: "black and<lb />white") process.<lb /><lb />This fall the IEMC will complete the preparation of the codes,<lb />and distribute copies to interested composers, along with royalty<lb />information and forms for registration of tapes with the tape<lb />distribution service.<lb /><lb />Reynold Weidenaar</p>
