          <lb />MINUTES OF THE STAFF MEETING AN I g 1970<lb />Psychology Department hh 4<lb />January 10, 1972<lb /><lb />The Psychology Department held its January meeting in EP 104 at 4 o'clock,<lb />January 10, 1972.<lb /><lb />PRESENT: Castellow, Martoccia, Corwin, Roberts, Daugherty, Whitley, Moore, Harris,<lb />Mitchell, Grossnickle, Long, Williams, Lao, Means, Stapleton, Higgins,<lb />Due to illness Dr. Tacker was unable to be present.<lb /><lb />In the absence of Dr. Prewett, who was out of town on a speaking engagement, Dr.<lb />Long chaired the meeting.<lb /><lb />Dr. Grossnickle made the following announcements:<lb /><lb />Dr. Zincone is offering Economics 395 as an honors seminar waiving all<lb />prerequisites in order to determine if there is enough interest and asked<lb />that this information be passed on to students.<lb /><lb />Dr. Stella Daugherty of the Math Department asked that advisees be<lb />told that if they are closed out of Math 322 they may want to take<lb />Math 329 and they would be permitted to do so.<lb /><lb />Any student with a double major may count his courses taken for his<lb />second major to also satisfy some of the general education requirements.<lb /><lb />Dr. Means announced that a research colloq uium would be held at 3 o'clock,<lb />Wednesday, January 26, 1972 in EP 102. Dr. Charles Moore will speak on research<lb />he is currently doing in the area of behavior modification. Refreshments will be<lb />served after the program. He further asked that if any faculty member had students<lb />working on a research project to get an abstract typed up with enough copies to be<lb />passed around to those attending the colloquium.<lb /><lb />Dr. Martoccia reported for the Library Committee stating that in addition to the<lb />book list he was now receiving yellow slips showing the date of the arrival of books<lb />that had been ordered and anyone wishing to see these may come by his office.<lb /><lb />Dr. Long reported for the committee that was appointed to revise the graduate hand-<lb />book. The revised copy (each faculty had a copy of it) was gone over page by page<lb />and the suggested changes discussed and implemented when agreed upon by the staff.<lb />Ten pages were covered and due to the lateness of the hour it was suggested that a<lb />time be set for another meeting to finish studying the handbook.
