<lb />MINUTES OF APRIL STAFF MEETING<lb />Psychology Department<lb />April 14, 1969<lb /><lb />The Psychology Department held its April meeting in EP 104 at 4 o'clock, April 14,<lb />1969.<lb /><lb />PRESENT: Prewett, Mitchell, Rogers, Harris, Kinzie, Tacker, Williams, Long,<lb />Martoccia, Latham, Dixon, Moore, Khatena, Daugherty, Steinberg,<lb />Stapleton, Higgins.<lb /><lb />The Admissions Committee reported on the number of students currently admitted to<lb />the graduate programs. Also, the staff discussed the various persons who had been<lb />admitted to doctoral programs in other schools.<lb /><lb />Motion by Rogers that final orals for the Master's Degree be open to the Psychology<lb />faculty. Further, that the notice to the faculty be sent out so that interested<lb />individuals could arrange to attend. This was interpreted by the staff to be at<lb />least /2 hours before the date. It is the responsibility of the thesis chairman to<lb />post such notice. Motion seconded by Kinzie and carried by vote of the staff.<lb /><lb />Motion by Dixon that only members of the thesis committee should vote as to whether<lb />or not the candidate had passed the examination. Motion seconded by Khatena and<lb />passed by the staff.<lb /><lb />Dr. Martoccia announced that the last comprehensive examinations are being read by<lb />the staff. (For example, a student might have a 3.4<lb />average but have one grade below a C. Such an individual would not be automatically<lb />eligible for honors in psychology but could be voted upon by the staff upon the re-<lb />commendation of a faculty member.) It was decided that such action would be re-<lb />troactive to go back to the installation of Psi Chi, which was December 8, 1964.<lb /><lb />The Departmental office will assist and develop a list of names of students who<lb /><lb />es<lb />(4, Ace<lb /><lb />Clinton R.
