The awareness of suicide as a problem on college<lb />campuses has rightfully caused considerable concern on the part<lb />of college personnel and students. :<lb /><lb />Since the Family Life Conference theme of suicide<lb />revention, intervention, and postvention in: October 1987, the<lb />Family Life Committee has received several calls from<lb />administrators, faculty, and students with questions, problems,<lb />and concerns. The Family Life Committee is providing information<lb />for faculty and administrators to use themselves, present to<lb />students in classes, for students to present to various groups or<lb />Organizations, or however they feel the information can be<lb />helpful. We are attempting to focus awareness on the part of<lb />faculty, administrators, and other students of students who are<lb />in need and ways of assisting those students. Enclosed please<lb />find for your information and consideration the following crucial<lb />handouts: 1.) How to Get Assistance for a Troubled Student and,<lb />2.) Local Resources for Referral or Consultation.<lb /><lb />If you have any questions or desire further information on<lb />this matter for yourself or others please feel free to call any<lb />of the resources listed.
