C., Dev. 6th, 1897.<lb /><lb />To the Board of Commissioners of Pitt !<lb /><lb />Co:<lb /><lb />I would respectfully submit the fol-<lb />lowing report to your Honorable body :<lb /><lb />I have visited and examined. the<lb />county jail and the Home for the Aged.<lb />and Iafirm, as required by taw, and find<lb />them beth in good condition, The<lb />health of the inmates is very good, and<lb />as a rule tney are well fed and clothed,<lb />Some of the prisoners in the jail com~<lb />plain that they have no change ot<lb />clothes, and U would suggest that your<lb />body empower the Sheriff to supply<lb />them with a change of clothes, as it<lb />wilt be impossible to preserve their<lb />health unless this is done,<lb /><lb />Some ot your body have doubtless<lb />been informed of the complaint about<lb />the of the<lb />County Home I have examined into<lb />these reports and find that they ail<lb />originated from a few of the inmates<lb />who labor under the delusion that the<lb />county is being honored by their re-<lb />Muintag its charges.
