Griffin, a well known<lb />lawyer and member of Naval Re-<lb />seryes, of Elizabeth City, whcse<lb />family were visiting at NagTs<lb />Head; intending to visit them,<lb />and missing the regular sharpie<lb />which runs doetween Fi lizabeth<lb /><lb />September 3rd, anxious to reach<lb />his family, started off in a canoe,<lb />accompanied by a young man<lb />named Wiodom, ard a colored<lb />boy.<lb /><lb />The party befoie getting across<lb />the sound ercountered a storm,<lb />and their boat was capsized.
