Hail<lb />storms, damaging crops to some ox"<lb />tent, were reported in Warren, Halt<lb />{ax, Henderson and Rutherford coun-<lb />ties. ~The latter part of the week was<lb />much cooler, Crops continae very<lb />fine id the extreme eastern counties,<lb />but at most points in the central and<lb />west potions have continued to suffer<lb />from the prevailing drought. The<lb />week was very favorable fcr saving<lb />fodder and picking cotton, which is<lb />progressing rapidiy. Cotton has shed<lb />considerably and the top crop has been<lb />badly cut shert by ereught. ,o that,<lb />though a considerable crop remain~ in<lb />sight, it will tall far short of tha ex-<lb /> -peetations of a morth ago.
