Had<lb />they not allowed themselves to<lb />be tricked in the Senete they<lb />might have had everything that<lb />they kicked too late for, and<lb />might even have succeeded in<lb />defeating the bill. When cotton<lb />tics, cotton bagging and burlaps<lb />were put on the free jist, and the<lb />duty on white pine lumber was<lb />reduced to $1, the trust-bourd<lb />Senators did it merely to keep the<lb />Opposition quiet and with no in-<lb />tention of allowing them to 1e-<lb />main.
