SUGG.<lb />About 5 oTelock Saturday<lb />the sad intelligeuce was telephoned<lb />from their home, two miles from t-wn,<lb />that Mis. Mittie Sugg, wife of Col.'1.<lb />A. Sugg, was dead.<lb /><lb />afternoon<lb /><lb />The sudden death<lb />of this excellent wowwan brought sad-<lb />ness and sorrow to the entire commur-<lb />ily. Though nov in good health for<lb />sometime, she was well enough to be in<lb />town to see friends no longer ago then<lb />last Wednesday. She had a chill<lb />Thursday afternoon and was very sick<lb />the next day, but oa Saturday morning<lb />wag thought to be growing much better<lb />In the afternoon she told those watch-<lb />ing by her bedside that she wanted t:<lb />go to sleep, and in a short while she<lb />fell asleep in Jesus. The end came<lb />suddenly yet peaceully, and she was<lb />called 10 that rest prepared for the peo-<lb />ple of Ged.<lb /><lb />Before marriage deceased was Miss<lb />Mittie E. Rountree, daughter of Mr,<lb />Charles Rountree and sister of our<lb />townsman, Mr. C. D. Rountree. She<lb />wag married to Col. I. A, Sugg Dec.<lb />2nd, 1875. The husband and seven<lb />children survive her. While attending<lb />school in Raleigh she protessed religion<lb />and joined the Baptist church at the<lb />age of 16 years and the remainder of<lb />her life was that of a Christian. She<lb />wes a devoted wife and motzer anda<lb />true friend. Every one sympathizes<lb />with the husband, children and brother<lb />in their bereavement.<lb /><lb />The funeral services weré held in the<lb />Baptist church Sunday atiernoon at<lb />4:30 oTslock, con tucted by Revs. P. Ge<lb />Elsum wid N. M Watson, and the in-<lb />terment iook place in Cherry Hill<lb />Cemetery. ~The pall bearers were<lb />Messrs. W. M. King, A. A. Forbes,<lb />E. A. Moye, L. I. Moore, D. L.
