C., May 4."Beau-<lb />fort county has again been the scene ot<lb />another tragecy"this time a father<lb />killed in cold blood by his son, just 13<lb />years old.<lb /><lb />Monday afternoon about 6:40 oTclock<lb />the news was received here that a mur-<lb />der had been committe] near HunterTs<lb />Bridge. Messrs. Irvin Rumley, John<lb />Ode:, Burwell Jones and Claude Rob-<lb />érson went down to the scene. Suspi-<lb />ciou had already centered upon the:<lb />cuildren. When these gentleman reach-<lb />ed the home of Oden they found nearly<lb />100 people gathered and the children in<lb />the house sitting by the fire. They<lb />were immediately placed under arrest<lb />and held until the coroner reached<lb />there. No mere is the<lb />South sending people to aid in<lb />trying to build up other sections.<lb />We have reached a full realiza-<lb />~Aion of the fact that the South<lb />" possesses superior advantages<lb />over all other sections for the<lb />utilization of our native talent, as<lb />wll as that of other ~aéctions-<lb />We not only have room for all of<lb />our own people, but several mils<lb />lion of desirable immigrants.<lb />The young men of the Southern<lb />cities and towns are rapidly<lb />awakening to their duty and<lb />. privilege, and are casting; about<lb />for some avenue through which<lb />they can assist in the develop-<lb />ment of their respective localities.<lb />Young menTs business, leagues<lb />jare being organized, Immigration<lb />and improvement societies start-<lb /><lb />young men, business enterprises<lb /><lb />men, farms opened by young<lb />men, factories located and man-<lb />aged by young men, and gener-<lb />alty the young men of the South<lb />are ably participating in the va-<lb />rious important functions which<lb />will bring prosperity and im-<lb />provement to that section.<lb />These young men, with the young<lb />men who are preparing to come<lb />South from the North, are the<lb />future business men of that sec-<lb />tion. The destiny of the South<lb /><lb />and the activity manifested<lb />and experience gained by the<lb />voung men cf today forms no<lb />minor part in the success of the<lb />South.
