Harvey, a young farmer in<lb />Nottoway county, Va., was prorounced<lb />dead by his physician a few days ago,<lb />but in ashoit time he began talking,<lb />keeping it up for tive hours without dis-<lb />playing unother sign of life, with the<lb />single exception of a slight movement of<lb />the throat and opening his eyes. T He<lb />died then, surrounded by his distressed<lb /><lb />relatives.<lb /><lb />~The story, as it reaches Richmond<lb />through a reliable source, is that the<lb />young man had been suffering from the<lb />grip. The seriousness of his case was<lb />not realized, and his condition had be-<lb />come critical before a physician was.<lb />summoned. ~To all appearances he<lb />passed away at about 5 oTclock in the<lb />morning.<lb /><lb />For some reason the attending physi-<lb />cian remained after the body had been<lb />laid out. While in the room alone his<lb />attention was attracted by a whistling<lb />noise, Which he discuvered was caused<lb />by air or gas exhaled by Harvey. He<lb />placed his hand on HarveyTs head, and<lb />the latter began talking, but not in an<lb />intelligent Manner, all that he said being<lb />confined to sentences of two or three<lb />words repeated in succession for many<lb />minates at a time, such as, oDie young.<lb />~Die young. oDie young. He finally<lb />stopped suddenly five hours later, with<lb />a remark indicating that he recognized<lb />that dissolution was near at hand.<lb /><lb />The physician made a caretul exami-<lb /><lb />-nation for some other indications of life<lb />white Harvey was talking, but only de-<lb />tected a very slight movement at the |<lb />rear of the jawbone. Not the slightest<lb />movement of the heart, pulse or tongue<lb />was apparent, and the throb of the jug-<lb />ular vein was totally absent. The body<lb />was pertectly rigid and cold.<lb /><lb />Partial decomposition had set in sev-<lb />eral days before HarveyTs death.<lb /><lb />The case is said to be as mucha<lb />mystery to the physician as to every<lb />one else.<lb /><lb />Mr. Harvey was about twenty-two<lb />years of age, and lived with his parents<lb />near Noitoway Courthouse."
