This question is now being<lb />continually asked, and there<lb />seems to be some diversity of<lb />opinion as to how it should be<lb />auswered. ~he Republicans say<lb />that Pritchard will be his own<lb />successor, and they assert it very<lb />confidently, claiming that they<lb />have enough Populists pledged to<lb />secure his election. And while<lb />this may be true, yt some prom-<lb />inent Populists assert that a Pop-<lb />ulist will be elected in Pritchard's<lb />place. The fact that some Popu-<lb />list members of the Legislature<lb />are now pledged to Pritchard is<lb />no guarantee that they will vote<lb />for him next January. He gives his patients<lb />what would amount to eight or ten<lb />ounces an hour of sterilized watcr.<lb />Experiments have been made with dis-<lb />ease caused by bacteria which dem-<lb />onstrate the curative value of water.<lb />In cases of cholera, where the system<lb />secretes a large amount of fluid, enor-<lb />mous quantities of hot water are of<lb />great benefit and will cure many cases<lb />without other medicines. One docior<lb />says that perfectly sweet cider, taken<lb />in large quantities, has been known to<lb />cure cases of bowel complaint. The<lb />acid kills the bacteria, which are speed-<lb />ily thrown out of the system. Hot wa-<lb />ter in fevers is of great pse, and<lb />an ordinary tumblerful of water as hot<lb />as can be taken once an hour is one<lb />of the very best remedies.
