Since the census<lb /><lb />of 1890 the exodus .bas largely<lb />depleted the coiored vote, and<lb />there is not now 100,000 qualfied<lb />negre voters in. North Carolina.<lb />And if there is any such negro<lb />registration claimed by Republi-<lb />can. party officials as is. notorious-<lb />ly circulated it will be manifestly<lb />fraudulent. Therefore, there can<lb />be no doubt of the result in the<lb />State if an honest election is held<lb /><lb />_|and there is no tactious divisions<lb /><lb />of the friends of honest govern-<lb /><lb />ment, and these shall register<lb /><lb />and vote.as there evident interest<lb />appears. Offers to the PeopleTs<lb />party for a union of yoters of<lb />that party with us were not made<lb />from any distrust of the Demo-<lb />cratic busts or because of a want<lb />of. reasovable cenfidence in the<lb />result; but the Demoeratic party<lb />felt the importance of uniting the<lb />white people of North Carolina<lb />for their common interest.
