Therefore it is not astonishing<lb />that when he consented to come every-<lb />body made up their minds to. see and<lb />hear him. When we left Parmele our train<lb />had ten loaded and packed coaches<lb />train was loaded to<lb /><lb />all<lb /><lb />country were there, sone going the day<lb /><lb />Every incomin,<lb /><lb />its utmost, and the surrounding<lb /><lb />before an camping out in tents.<lb /><lb />Rocky Mount had put on its most<lb />testive look to receive the next Presi-<lb />dent and the crowd estimsted all the<lb />way 15,000 25,000. The<lb /><lb />stores and dwellings and nearly all the<lb /><lb />from LO<lb />~buildings-vere festooned and decorated<lb />in National colors. ~The various com-<lb />mittees had done their work well.<lb /><lb />Out at the Fair Grounds the ar<lb />rangements were complete and the dec-<lb />orations superb. A large commodious<lb />stand justin front of the grand stand<lb />from which Mr. Bryan was to speak<lb />Besides this the grand stand, the judges<lb />stand, an ete., were near enough to sce<lb />~and hear and furnished elegant seats<lb />tor those who were fortunate epough to<lb />get them.<lb /><lb />The Press reporters occupied the<lb />judges stand. We be-<lb />heve that as far as North Carolina is<lb /><lb />concerned, this will ve accomolished in<lb />afew days. The injunction that he left<lb />upon all silver men in the State in the<lb />close of his speech Friday to unite and<lb />cast every vote favorable to free silver<lb />Where it will count will surely bear<lb />fruit and give to him the electoral vote<lb />ot this State.<lb /><lb />Died.<lb />Capt. Arthur<lb />Sewall, the democratic nominee<lb />for vice president, is president of<lb />a national bank, president of the<lb />Marine Protective Association, or<lb />has any connection with a rail-<lb />road corporation. Mr, Smith<lb />Says in his letter that oboth dem-<lb />ocrats and populists have confi<lb />dence in theshonesty and integrity<lb />of The Constitution, and for this<lb />reason� he asks for information in<lb />regard to such business connec<lb />tions of any nature that might<lb />concern the business standing of<lb />Mr. Sewall.<lb /><lb />The Constitution knows of Mr.<lb />Sewall, of Maine, as a prominent<lb />shipbuilder of Maine, and as pres-<lb />ident of a national bank.
