The Florence,South Car-<lb />olina, Messenger has some very<lb />hard things to say about the Dan-<lb />ville warebousemen- It makes<lb />some allegations aboat the Dan-<lb />ville people that we donTt believe<lb />are true, and the Danville Journal<lb />retorts back in very plain lan-<lb />guage to the South Carolina ed-<lb />itors. All of this kind of staff will<lb />not aid the South Carolina mar-<lb />kets at all in building themselves<lb />up nor does Danville in oar opin-<lb />ion need such notoriety and, the<lb />Journal need not remind the<lb />worid that Danville is the largest<lb /><lb />obacco centrein it. Here are hundreds of dif-<lb />ferent picees of machinery in<lb />motion, making almost every-~<lb />thing that can be imagined frem<lb />@ common brass pin up. Tyre<lb />setting machines and printing<lb />presses caught the eyes of the<lb />newspaper folks.<lb /><lb />The next building 1s the Mia-<lb />eral and Foresty. This is a rus-<lb />fic structure the outside covered<lb />with sections of mamy varieties<lb />of trees just us cut from the Geor-<lb />gia forests. Within is a vast<lb />collection of minerals and woods<lb />from various States. Here North<lb />Carolina is well represented, her<lb />display of minerals being the<lb />best in the building. The bege<lb />gold nuggets attract the atrentron<lb />of every one.<lb /><lb />Then on around the south-west-<lb />ern 6nd of lake Clara Meer the<lb />Agricultural building is reached.<lb />Here the States vie with each<lb />other in showing products of the<lb />soil and orchard. This building<lb />alone is worth a trip to Atlanta<lb />tosee. A striking feature of it<lb />is the display made by the Sea-<lb />board Air Line of the resources<lb />along ite road.<lb /><lb />This completes the list of build-<lb />ings containing general exhibits,<lb />bat there is vet one other large<lb />structure situated juat to the right<lb />of the Georgia building and main<lb />entrance. Thisis the auditoram<lb /><lb />with s seating capacity reaching<lb />the theusands. In this concerts<lb />and public meetings are held.<lb />Daring our stay Gilmore's fa-<lb />mous beud"40 piecee"~of New<lb />York, gave several concert®<lb />daily.<lb /><lb />Following the course in which<lb />different buildings, one gets a<lb />fair idea of how to visit the Ex-<lb />position proper to advantage.<lb /><lb />eS ee = ee,<lb /><lb />for a State display. True the<lb />State is fairly well represented<lb />and has some creditable exhibits<lb />there, butthey are mainly the<lb />Gutcame of private enterprise<lb />and are so scattered through the<lb />different buildings as to almost<lb />lowe their effect. In the Sea-<lb />board Air Line exhibit North<lb />Caroling was largely drawn upon,<lb />but thet road receives and<lb />is entitled to the credit for this.<lb />In the same building, Agri-<lb />cultugal, the Ro JZ Reynolds<lb />Tobacco Co., of Winston, makes<lb />an exhibit that is highly credita"<lb />ble to that epterprising firm. In<lb />the Manufacturers and Liberal<lb />Arts building, Belmont School<lb />has asplendid exhibit.
