        <p>-WINPOP «<lb /><lb />A Power Word for Women<lb /><lb /> oBond In The Spirit ?<lb /><lb />_ Pastor Sheila Ingram*<lb /><lb />Ihave been thinking a lot about<lb />the pressures and spiritual<lb />attacks that so many women are<lb />in of have pressed to get<lb /><lb />have been fighting a personal<lb />spiritual attack which has<lb />caused me to press in to the<lb />Lord like never before, I think<lb /><lb />when you Tve done all you |<lb />know and you have-stood and-<lb /> continue to stand the enemy<lb /><lb />will speak loud in your mind to<lb />make you feel your missing the<lb />mark in what you believe the<lb />Lord is saying to you. I know<lb />there are many of you who can<lb />identify: with this feeling, but<lb />then after days and nights of<lb />struggle we have to come to<lb />grips with whatever it is that is<lb /><lb />trying to take us off of our<lb /><lb />spiritual assignment, When<lb />there is power and a great<lb />anointing on your life you will<lb />be tried in ways you can Tt<lb />imagine. We know the Lord has<lb />told us in his word that he will<lb />never leave us nor forsake us<lb /><lb />but it sometimes feels so alone.<lb /><lb />We know that he is the very<lb />thread that is holding the fabric<lb />of our lives together but<lb />sometimes the thread is hard to<lb />see. Our rational mind reminds<lb />us that he is near bécause the<lb />very fabric of our life is still<lb />held together with the hope and<lb />faith that pushes us from day<lb />to day. So we wait and wait for<lb />a move of God, we pray and<lb />pray as we wait for a move of<lb />God. Knowing that he is a<lb />supernatural God and his time<lb />is not our time, our patience is<lb />tried and our desire to win<lb />begins to build back up because<lb />we realize we must stay oBond<lb />To The Spirit ? this is<lb />mandatory for our survival<lb />ladies, no matter what it is your<lb />struggling with today stay<lb />connected and focused on your<lb />future. Your assignment is<lb />important to the Kingdom. No<lb />' matter if you Tre a homemaker,<lb />a school teacher, or a woman<lb />in ministry, wherever you go to<lb />take your place in each day to<lb />make ends meet or to serve,<lb />know that you are important.<lb />There are gifts that have been<lb />given tous byGod,<lb /><lb />The gifts of the spirit are the<lb />weapons of our warfare: If an<lb />army went out to battle without<lb />training or weapons, it would<lb />lose. If soldiers went out to<lb />battle without understanding<lb />their equipment, they would<lb />still lose. Any defeat that the<lb />church suffers is because it<lb />either does not have the<lb />weapons of its warfare, or it<lb />does not understand the<lb />equipment which it has to fight<lb />its battles,<lb /><lb />These weapons include:<lb />1, The Blood of Jesus<lb />2. The word of God<lb /><lb />3, The name of Jesus<lb /><lb />Our battle is in the spiritual |<lb /><lb />world, The word of God in<lb />Ephesians 6; 12 specifically<lb />says, for we wrestle not against<lb /><lb />flesh and blood, but against<lb />principalities, against powers,<lb />against the rulers of the<lb />darkness of this world, against<lb />spiritual wickedness in high<lb />places.<lb /><lb />Realize the more weapons of<lb />our warfare that we possess the<lb /><lb />better we know how to utilize<lb /><lb />interpretation of tongues.<lb /><lb />them, the more successful we<lb />will be in battle. Jesus says;.1<lb />Corinthians 12:1 now<lb /><lb />_ concerning spiritual gifts,<lb /><lb />brethren, I would.not have you<lb />ignorant, Jesus knowing that he<lb />would face crucifixion he<lb />promised that he would pray to<lb /><lb />_ the father to give them another<lb /><lb />comforter. That guidance had been<lb /><lb />confirmed repeatedly so that<lb />the Apostle could reaffirm itto<lb />the Ephesians elders before<lb />leaving them: oAnd now, see I<lb />go bond in the chains and<lb />tribulations await me ? Acts 20:<lb /><lb />22-23. Note that the Spirit<lb /><lb />guided him to go, and then<lb />alerted him to the trails which<lb />were ahead. The clarification<lb />of the difficulties did. not<lb />contradict the initial guidance,<lb />but clarified the nature of it.<lb /><lb />It is crucial to catch the<lb />relationship of oBond in the<lb />Spirit ?, and othe Holy Spirit<lb />testifies. Paul Ts own spirit was<lb /><lb />~ under the control of the Holy<lb />- Spirit. A short time earlier he<lb />_ written the Christians at Rome<lb /><lb />from Corinth explaining this<lb />and expressing<lb />autobiographically what he<lb /><lb />knew was ahead of him. oThe<lb />Spirit himself bears witness<lb /><lb />with our spirit that we are<lb />children of God. And if children<lb />then heirs- heirs of God and<lb />heirs with Christ. Verse-4- The<lb />Christians told Paul othrough<lb />the Spirit (v.4) not-to go to<lb />Jerusalem. The words<lb /><lb /> othrough the Spirit imply that "<lb /><lb />they had a word of knowledge<lb /><lb />_ from the Spirit that the apostle<lb /><lb />was not to go to Jerusalem.<lb />Conflicting guidance? No if he<lb />was the same Spirit. The Spirit<lb />revealed the danger ahead for<lb />Paul. These were people he was<lb />in relationship with. He had<lb /><lb />spent three years with them .<lb /><lb />there was a bond between them.<lb />But Paul had received orders<lb />from the Holy Spirit to go and<lb />also had been given a clear<lb />picture of what going would<lb /><lb />mean. oBond in the Spirit ? He<lb />__pressed on.<lb /><lb />Phillip,<lb /><lb />Minority Voice March 21 - March 28, 2008p29<lb /><lb />Success ease and peace without<lb />conflict have become the false<lb />signs of the Spirit's blessing.<lb />Sometimes we can Tt imagine<lb />that trails and difficulties could<lb />ever be the Lord Ts will for<lb />people we love. The will of the<lb />Lord must be done in our life,<lb /><lb />What troubled Paul was the<lb />combined restraint imposed by<lb />his _ prophetic<lb />daughters, his companions, and<lb />even Luke. Together they all<lb />pleaded with him not to go to<lb />Jerusalem. _Agabus did not<lb />forbid Paul from going to<lb />Jerusalem. He simply made it<lb />clear what would happen when<lb />he went. The Spirit had not<lb />given different guidance as a<lb />matter-of fact they were on it in<lb />the Spirit. tis what the friends<lb /><lb />added to the guidance that<lb />made Paul go.through mixed<lb /><lb />emotions. Had Paul listened to<lb />his emotions and his friends he<lb />would have missed his God<lb /><lb />assignment. Stay.on course. and. -<lb /><lb />stay oBond to the Spirit ?
