The Hills noticed<lb />that other families, like them, had<lb />to drive long distances to be with<lb />their sick children only to have to<lb />eat from hospital vending ma-<lb />chines and sleep in waiting room<lb />chairs, for lack of a better place to<lb />stay. Fred Hill and his football<lb />team decided to build these fami-<lb />lies a  ohome away from home ? in<lb />Philadelphia. Reynolds Health Care<lb />Trust Fund, Branch Banking and<lb />Trust Company, The Brody Foun-<lb />dation, Ronald McDonald Ts<lb />Children Ts Charities and the<lb />Ashley Quinn Trust Fund, as well<lb />as many individuals and compa-<lb />nies.<lb /><lb /> oPeople often assume we are<lb />funded 100% by McDonald Ts and<lb />therefore do not need the support<lb />of the community, ? said Mrs.<lb />Barnard.  oIn fact, McDonald Ts con-<lb />tributes about 10% of our operat-<lb />ing budget, another 10% comes<lb />from room fees and the remaining<lb />80% comes from the community. ?<lb />The fours Ronald McDonald<lb />Houses in North Carolina share<lb />the proceeds from the Michael Jor-<lb />dan Celebrity Golf Classic, which<lb />is held in Greenville. Other Ronald<lb />McDonald Houses throughout the<lb />nation rely on community support<lb />to start-up and operate also.<lb /><lb />Founded in 1984, in memory of<lb />McDonald Ts founder Ray Kroc,<lb />Ronald McDonald Ts Children Ts<lb />Charities is a national charitable<lb />foundation that was established<lb />to promote the development and<lb />well-being of children. It has<lb />awarded over $55 million in grants<lb />to over 1200 charities across the<lb />country. WHITE, JR.)<lb /><lb /> oToday Good Gossip is some very<lb />- goed gos gossip I mean some very good<lb />I MEAN SOME VERY<lb />GOOD GOSSIP ?A few years ago I<lb />had the great pleasure of hearing<lb />a great man of God Delivered a<lb />men day message to a church for<lb />their annual men Ts day services<lb />and I have heard this man speak<lb />and teach Sunday school and other<lb />things in the community and also<lb />the public school system for over<lb />30 years or more. In 1961 he joined<lb />the- pleasant Grove Missionary<lb />Baptist church but nowit the (First<lb />Baptist Church). Of Belhaven NC.<lb />But before I go any farther let me<lb />tell you little more about this man.<lb />He is the son of the late John W.<lb />White Sr. and Ethel B. White he<lb />was born in Windsor, NC. As a<lb />teénager he move with his family<lb />ti-Asheville, North Carolina and<lb />graduated from Stephens Lee High<lb />School. He attended Shaw Uni-<lb />versity and graduating with a de-<lb />@fee in Physical Education and<lb />Biology. He later studied at the<lb />University of Iowa at Iowa City,<lb />lowa. He is Veteran of the U.S.<lb />Aftmy. He began working in the<lb />Beaufort County Schools in 1960<lb />and retired from that school sys-<lb />tem in 1993. He is a member of the<lb />First Baptist Church where he<lb />serves as a Sunday School teacher<lb />and as Chairman of the Board of<lb />. He is married to the<lb />former Lillie Rebecca O Tneal. They<lb />are proud parents of Two Chil-<lb />dren, Two grandchildren and two<lb />foster daughters. School System.<lb /><lb />The Rev. John W, White is very<lb />religious person and now that he<lb />gone into ministry I can see great<lb />things to come into for us in our<lb />community. To God be the glory<lb />for he has done great things we<lb />thank God for you Rev. White hope<lb />and pray that you will continue in<lb />the lordin your Ministry.
