The next cen-<lb />tury promises to present new challenges that the Black press<lb />stands ready to meet.<lb /><lb />The First Amendment protection of freedom of the press ex-<lb />presses the well understood principle that liberty cannot long<lb />survive without a press that is free to print the truth. But who<lb />will speak for those who have no liberty?<lb /><lb />That, of course, was the dilemma faced by America Ts first<lb />Black journalists. Without newspapers of their own to describe<lb />the inhumanity of slavery and later to the indignity of Jim<lb />Crow, justice would remain beyond the reach of Blacks.<lb /><lb />The accomplishments of those Black journalists are an im-<lb />portant part of Black American history. From the earliest<lb />writings of Frederick Douglass, the writers, editors and<lb />publishers of Black newspapers spoke when others were silent,<lb />protested when others acquiesced and shed light when others<lb />were content to live in darkness.<lb /><lb />Although born in an era of slavery and segregation, the<lb />Black newspaper continues to be an important American in-<lb />stitution that must be preserved. Only a strong and persistent<lb />Black press can give voice and clarity to the economic hard-<lb />ships that are still endured by millions of Blacks. The Black<lb />press is also vital to keeping an accurate record of the political,<lb />cultural and social life of modern Black America.<lb /><lb />Enoch R. Waters, author of the recently published book, The<lb />American Diary: A personal history of the Black press,<lb />reminds us that oThe Black press played such an integral part<lb />in the stride toward freedom that Americans from all walks<lb />of life should know more about its past and present role. T T<lb /><lb /> ~ oUnfortunately, T T Waters said, ~ ~there are too many<lb />Americans, Blacks in particular, who don Tt see the need for<lb /><lb /> oPrinceville resident wins big on the Price Is<lb />Right T; oIs there life after the Price Is Right? <lb /><lb />_ Barker. He says, ~He makes you<lb />; feel at ease, super-professional,<lb /><lb />Black newspapers. They don Tt seem to appreciate what the<lb />Clarions for the cause meant to Americans of African descent<lb />during and after slavery. But even with the gains that have<lb />been made in civil rights thereremains a role for the Black<lb />press.<lb /><lb />Waters, who was at the helm of the Chicago Defender when<lb />it went from a weekly to a daily and who died shortly after<lb />his book was published, reminds us that, ~ ~If you ever tried<lb />to get coverage, in a White daily or weekly, of a worthy Black<lb />event, you will understand why that need continues. All Blacks<lb />aren Tt celebrities, all are not sports and entertainment heroes.<lb />And, unless they Tre involved in some criminal activity, the<lb />rank and file have a hard time getting their share of the ink. <lb /><lb />Eddie Madison, who worked with Waters at the Associated<lb />Negro Press (the forerunner to the National Newspaper<lb />Publishers*Association) says in his critique of Waters T book,<lb /> ~ ~those who boastfully declare that they don Tt read their local<lb />Black newspaper or any Black publications may sing a dif-<lb />ferent tune after reading WaterssSAmerican Diary. It pulls no<lb />punches in telling how Black editors risked their lives to get<lb />the words out that paved the way for the freedoms we now en-<lb />joy or take for granted. And, for those who think the battle is<lb />over, they, too, will be enlightened by the book. Waters effec-<lb />tively ties in thé early history of the Black press with more<lb />contemporary developments, T Madison adds.<lb /><lb />Thus the marketing of a Black newspaper presents unique<lb />challenges. We can no longer sit back and think that people<lb />will simply buy our product because it Ts Black. There is too<lb />much competition for our time and other resources. On the<lb />other hand, a Black newspaper should not and cannot be com-<lb />pared to White-owned media or to other forms of Black media<lb /><lb />. .. Black magazines and Black radio stations. Carolyn Mar-<lb />tindale, author of the 1986 book entitled, The White Press In<lb />Black America, an assistant profe8sor of journalism at<lb />Youngstown State University in Youngstown, Ohio concludes,<lb /> oDespite all their improvements in minority coverage and hir-<lb />ing, the White-owned American media clearly do not stay with<lb /><lb />yet you get a feeling that Bob is<lb />a christian person with very high<lb /><lb />a racial story until the causes have died away. Admittedly<lb />Martinda! savs, it is asking much to exvert them to do so,<lb />considering the myriad of other conflicts and situations about<lb />which they are expected to keep the public informed. On the<lb />other hand, judging from the proliferation of lifestyle and<lb />leisure-time material appearing in American newspapers<lb />these days, the (White) press does not lack the space or the<lb />reporters to provide more thorough coverage of the continu-<lb />ing tragic effects of racism in our society. <lb /><lb />Still, the Black press is fading. Advertising dollars are<lb />dwindling. Readers are disappearing faster than they are be-<lb />ing replaced. The question is, ~ ~if the Black newspaper is<lb />overhauled (content and reproduction - wise), if it is com-<lb />petitively priced and if it is properly promoted, will it succeed?<lb />The answer is no, unless the element in the standard<lb />marketing mix is properly addressed " place or distribution.<lb /><lb />We have found that distribution is a serious problem for the<lb />AFRO. No matter how good the paper becomes, how fairly it<lb />is priced, how heavily it is promoted " if it is not easily<lb />available, few people will go out of their way to find it. Ac-<lb />cessibility is key.<lb /><lb />Too often distribution is overlooked. And, in the newspaper<lb />business distribution or circulation is the driving force of<lb />newspaper revenue. The cycle goes something like this "<lb />advertisers are influenced by circulation numbers (so they can<lb />compute and compare your cost per thousand). Circulation<lb />numbers are directly influenced by both effective distribution,<lb />and by product quality. No longer are advertisers willing to<lb />buy the AFRO or any other black newspaper just because its<lb />Black. This is especially true if the publication is not con-<lb />sidered to be a mainstay of the community.<lb /><lb />We strongly believe that a black newspaper cannot succeed<lb />unless it promotes pride among its readers, its employees and<lb />throughout the community. The AFRO-AMERICAN<lb />Newspaper has a responsibility to serve the community. It has<lb />a responsibility to listen to what its readers have to say and<lb />respond accordingly. :<lb /><lb />Williams is a great success at<lb />everything he trys to conquer<lb /><lb />a ~ ray<lb /> agwvee sic<lb /><lb />ee %<lb />Pa Se a TA i owe ~th eat<lb /><lb />staff a chance to work the pro-<lb />blems you think you have out for<lb />you.<lb /><lb />You Tll be surprised what we<lb />can do "you Tll probably have a<lb /><lb />diriveway. Dr. Clifford<lb />Coles and his wife Marsha Baker<lb />Coles of Princeville, NC, have ac-<lb />quired tickets to see the Price Is<lb />Right Television Show with Bob<lb />Barker. They arrived at the<lb />studio at 10:00 a.m. and returned<lb />at 6:00 p.m. on April 5th for tap-<lb />ing of the show. On the way into<lb />the studio, a director asked ques-<lb />tions of all who entered to see if<lb />they might find interesting per-<lb />sons to be contestants. You must<lb />answer to your name ~ ~nick<lb />names are not accepted because<lb />winners cannot be taxed by nick<lb />names! ! Name tags are made for<lb />persons entering. The Price Is<lb />Right and winners are liable to<lb />the state of California. The direc-<lb /><lb />contestant number 4, Clifford<lb />Coles, Come On Down!!! Dr.<lb />Coles says, ~ o ~He jumped up 5 feet<lb />off the floor, T but his wife<lb />disagrees. She says, ~ ~It was she<lb />that jumped 5 feet off the floor,<lb />screaming and clapping her<lb />hands. Dr. Coles ran down to con-<lb />testants row and is soon the win-<lb />ner of a brand new microwave<lb />stove oven combination, which he<lb />thought was a washing machine.<lb />He plays the money game on<lb />stage with Bob Barker, giving the<lb />rules of the game. Dr. Coles wins<lb />a brand new 1989 blue Pontiac<lb />Sunbird, of which he thought was<lb />red, He prefers cream colored<lb />cars. Bob Barker now says, o ~Clif-<lb />ford, come over here and spin<lb />that wheel, T T which Dr. Coles<lb />finds heavy and hard to spin, He<lb />spins and the wheel stops on ~ ~95 T T.<lb />Bob Barker says, ~ ~Clifford,<lb />you've got 95. Now you don Tt want<lb /><lb />moral values -- WHOOPS -- time<lb />for a commerical break, as the<lb />House and Stage lights dim and<lb />the cameras are off. Bob Barker<lb />goes out on stage, mounts on a<lb />stool and receives questions from<lb />the audience, who asks questions<lb />about his life, career, death of his<lb />wife, and if he has a lady in his<lb />life, and so on to which. He said,<lb /> oYes, however. ~ o ~He does not<lb />have marriage plans yet. Oh<lb />yes, where is Mrs. Marsha Coles?<lb />She s hoarse now from scream-<lb />ing, cheering, and jumping and<lb />will not be able to talk for two<lb />days.<lb /><lb />Is there life after winning? Dr.<lb />Coles is now numb with disbelief<lb />at winning a stove and a new car,<lb />who back home is going to believe<lb />this. He thinks, ~ ~When do I get<lb />my prize? Will I have to drive<lb />them to Tarboro from Califor-<lb />nia? T The show officials on the<lb />Price is Right, put out a search<lb />with local dealers in Tarboro and<lb />other areas of North Carolina to<lb />find a car just like the one that<lb />Clifford won on the show. One<lb />cannot be found.<lb /><lb />After returning home, reality<lb />sets in. First to arrive is an of-<lb />ficial letter for the State of<lb />California Income Tax Division<lb />for Dr. Coles to pay $548.00 in ad-<lb />vance in order to get his prizes.<lb /><lb />RONALD WILLIAMS<lb /><lb />Ronald Williams have been in<lb />the car business for 13 years. He<lb />started with Tarheel Toyota in<lb />1977 as a sales representative.<lb />Don Sigmon. bought Tarheel<lb />Toyota in 1980 and changed the<lb />name to Toyota East. He stayed<lb />on as a sales representative.<lb />Through hard work, he won four<lb />trips out to Las Vegas with<lb />Toyota. The incidence of<lb />fatalities per 10,000 motorcycle<lb />registrations is among the worst<lb />in the nation.<lb /><lb />The legislation represents an<lb />important attempt to address this<lb />problem by creating funds to sup-<lb />port a program of motorcycle<lb />safety education and training.<lb />The $3.00 special tax proposed by<lb />the bill is to generate<lb />about $200,000 annually and will<lb />make it possible to train and cer-<lb />tify instructors, to improve<lb />motorcycle safety courses, and to<lb />make age available<lb />statewide. The bill was supported<lb /><lb />Adminstration Ts © northeast<lb /><lb />ure kills blacks males bet-<lb />ween the ages of 25 and 44 at 1544<lb />times the rate for whites, and<lb />kills black females at 17 times the<lb />rate for white females. And half<lb />of those who do know are being<lb />treated through medicines and<lb />proper diet.<lb />Why is hypertension found so<lb />often among blacks? There is<lb />convincing evidence that it has<lb />much to do with eating too much<lb />salt and other dietary factors.<lb />4. Mental Disturbances. If an<lb />inner-city youngster survives and<lb />makes it to adulthood, he or she<lb />is likely to be angry, embittered,<lb />enraged. The repeated failures in<lb />school, the discrimination, the<lb />constant roadblocks, the menial<lb /><lb />. jobs available - all take a terrible<lb /><lb />mental toll, The youngsters grow<lb /><lb />| up with feelings of self-hatred and<lb />worthlessness. Many reach the<lb /><lb />point where they care little about<lb />anything.<lb /><lb />What can we do?, What will<lb />relieve the suffering from these<lb />and other diseases that takes<lb />such a terrible toll in black<lb />America? Basically, what is<lb />needed is education - education of<lb />more black doctors, of blacks, of<lb />the public. As of 1972, only two<lb />percent of the nation Ts physicians<lb />were black.<lb /><lb />We need black teachers, school<lb />counselors, practicing doctors<lb />who will educate youngsters on<lb />the need for proper diet and sen-<lb />sible health care. Some blacks<lb />are taking the responsibility of<lb />educating their less fortunate<lb />brothers and sisters about the<lb />dangers of high blood pressure,<lb />the need to use the VD clinics. We<lb />need more black churches,<lb />sororities, fraternities, social<lb />clubs to take up the challenge. We<lb />all can, and must increase our ef-<lb />forts on many fronts to prevent<lb /><lb />mental illness, malnutrition, the ~<lb /><lb />complications of VD, hyperten-<lb />sion, alcoholism and the other<lb />diseases which ravage black<lb />America and consequently<lb />burden an entire nation.<lb /><lb />Dr. Charles S. Wright<lb /><lb />Going to the bank to deposit your paycheck or experiencing the inconvenience<lb />of a lost or stolen Social Security check can be eliminated by direct deposit, a<lb />system that automatically credits your bank account by the amount of the check.<lb /><lb />Direct deposit, which does away with a paper check, -<lb />has advantages for both you and the organization or<lb />employer offering the program.<lb /><lb />You benefit because funds reach your account faster<lb />through direct deposit, and you don Tt have to worry about<lb />arranging transportation to the bank or getting your check<lb />when you are sick or out of town on payday. The organiza-<lb />tion or employer benefits because direct deposit reduces<lb />payroll processing expenses.<lb /><lb />The route your money follows in the direct deposit Sandra J. Wright<lb />system is simple. In the case of payroll direct deposit, an employee authorizes<lb />his or her company (which must have computer capabilities or access to a com-<lb />puter) automatically to credit his personal account each payday. The employer<lb />produces a computer-generated tape of all employees participating in the direct<lb />deposit program and the amount to be paid to each employee.<lb /><lb />The tape is sent to the company Ts bank, which sorts the payroll entries and for-<lb />wards the list to the Automated Clearing House, a computerized facility that<lb />accomplishes the transfer of money from the employer's bank to the employees T<lb />accounts after it balances and validates the entries.<lb /><lb />Direct deposit of Social Security checks is carried out the same way.<lb /><lb />If you are concerned that somehow your money will not be deposited correctly,<lb />be assured that errors are rare. If you believe a mistake has been made, notify<lb />your bank and you can expect to have the error corrected within 10 business days.<lb />Most banks will recredit your account with the amount you think is in error if<lb />they need more time to investigate your inquiry.<lb /><lb />Direct deposits into a checking or statement savings account will be recorded<lb />on your monthly bank statements. On payday, you will receive from your<lb />employer a pay stub indicating the amount deposited and other information you<lb />normally receive with a paycheck.<lb /><lb />If the money is deposited into a non-interest-bearing checking account, you<lb />may have the option of instructing the bank automatically to transfer part of the<lb />funds to your savings account. This way you can have a readily accessible amount<lb />of money in your checking account while the rest is earning interest. Depending<lb />on the average amount you keep in a checking account, it may be to your<lb />advantage to use an interest-bearing checking account.<lb /><lb />Sandra J. Wright is a Personal Banker in the Main Office of Wachovia Bank<lb />and Trust Co. in Winston-Salem.<lb /><lb />RATE INCREASE<lb /><lb />Effective as of January 1, 1990, The ~M T Voice<lb />newspaper rates will increase to $4.25 per column<lb />inch. Let them help with the din-<lb />ner and cleaning ups. Listen to<lb />your children. Parents are so<lb />eager to teach that they end up<lb />preaching. Create regular fami-<lb />ly times, including sit-down din-<lb />ners as many nights a week as<lb />possible, and rituals like summer<lb />trips or holiday feasts. Don Tt look<lb />for short cuts. There Ts no quick,<lb />easy way to teach values or<lb />establish discipline. If parents<lb />are too into their careers, their<lb />kids will look elsewhere for<lb />guidance and that Ts how they get<lb />into trouble. When scheduling ac-<lb />tivities for your youngsters, ask:<lb />What Ts my motivation for wan-<lb />ting my child to do this or that?<lb />What do I appreciate my child<lb />for? How often do I show it? Don Tt<lb />criticize children interms of the<lb />way their behavior may jeopar-<lb />dize your professional or social<lb />life, such as making you late for<lb />a meeting or forcing you to<lb />cancel your trip. Don Tt get so in-<lb />volved that you Tre doing your<lb />children Ts homework or trying to<lb />solve their problems for them.<lb />Children need to learn about<lb />failure as well as success. Treat<lb />your children with the same<lb />courtesy you would an impor-<lb />tant client or superior. If you<lb />have to cancel an outing, explain<lb />why and set up another date.<lb />Beware of trying your love to<lb />your child Ts performance.<lb />Parents express their love by tell-<lb />ing their children they want them<lb />to succeed. Believe that your<lb />children want to do the best.<lb />Children have such good inten-<lb />tions. They desparately want to<lb />please their parents. If you just<lb />correct rather than criticize, the<lb />relationship can blossom. Praise<lb />again and again. Try to find at<lb />least one thing, however small, to<lb />compliment each day. Just as<lb />you would do with an employee or<lb />subordinate, emphasize ac-<lb />complishments rather than short-<lb />comings. If you have several<lb />children, take one out alone at<lb />least once a month for a really<lb />special event, such as dinner at<lb />a restaurant. Children today brag<lb />about how much time their<lb />parents spend with them. Show<lb />your love and affection as often<lb />as you can. Not the most expen-<lb />sive toy can compare or compete<lb />with saying, ~I love you T T and giv-<lb />ing hugs at least once a day.<lb />Don Tt underestimate the Impor-<lb />tance of children earning their<lb />own money. And make sure<lb />youngsters do chores so they feel<lb />they Tre contributing to the<lb />household. Rather than giving<lb />children toys or clothes they ask<lb />for, let them save for them. If you<lb />don Tt have to wait or work for<lb />anything, you never feel a surge<lb />of joy at getting it. If you feel<lb />overwhelmed, get professional<lb />help. Sometimes a parenting<lb />course alone teaches the skills<lb />parents need most.<lb /><lb />From: American Health<lb />October 1989<lb /><lb />SOME STATISTICS...<lb /><lb />. . About 60% of our kids have<lb />used alcohol by the eighth<lb />gradeg Two and a half million of<lb />our teenagers get sexually<lb />transmitted diseases each year.<lb />Emotional disorders afflict<lb />millions of children, and most of<lb />them receive no treatment.<lb /><lb />. . DOCTOR<lb /><lb />SEE IN-STORE DISPLAY<lb />FOR DETAILS<lb /><lb />CHRISTMAS GIVING<lb /><lb /> ~Tis the season for giving. To-<lb />day, for many the Christmas holi-<lb />day begins the day after<lb />Thanksgiving. Many families<lb />have long begun to plan and shop<lb />for toys and gifts for their<lb />children. Those families may be<lb />wisest among all of us.<lb />Christmas, though seldom<lb />discussed, can be one of the<lb />heaviest financial burdens for the<lb />family breadwinners. Many<lb />parents shop endlessly without<lb />first developing a family budget.<lb />Credit cards are most often over<lb />extended and in some cases,<lb />family bills are left unpaid in<lb />order to purchase material items<lb />for the children and spouses. Is<lb />this wise spending? Further,<lb />what do we teach our children<lb />when we splurge and wreck the<lb />family Ts economic balance for<lb />the next half of the year?<lb /><lb />Steps for wise Christmas<lb />spending:<lb /><lb />1. Set a budget for holiday gifts<lb />and other related expenses, and<lb />stick to it. Many of us cannot<lb />resist attempting to fulfill our<lb />children Ts every Christmas wish.<lb />Most often after the holiday<lb />season, the children llosg interest<lb />in many of the items before they<lb />learn to fully appreciate or use<lb /><lb />the toy.<lb />2. Plan carefully the gifts to be<lb />purchased. Consider your<lb /><lb />children Ts ages, stage of develop-<lb />ment, and interests before charg-<lb />ing out with credit cards and<lb />check books in hand. Invest in<lb />educational toys -- computers,<lb />software, etc. that the entire<lb />family can benefit from.<lb /><lb />3. Shop early in the season<lb />when possible, Getting caught up<lb />in last minute stocking stuffers<lb />can reek havoc on even the most<lb />well thought budget and<lb />planning.<lb /><lb />4, Consider what Christmas<lb />giving is all about. Our society<lb />has become so materialistic that<lb />we sometimes forget what we ac-<lb />tually should be celebrating dur-<lb />ing the holiday season. Gifts that<lb />are homemade can be as<lb />precious as others. Most often<lb />there gifts let the individual know<lb />how much thought and effort<lb />you've put into sharing yourself<lb />with them. Family projects this<lb />season can center around<lb />creating handmade items to<lb />share.<lb /><lb />5. Remember the importance<lb />of giving of one Ts time during this<lb />yuletide. Don Tt let extra gifts,<lb />toys, and clothing take the place<lb />of spending time with your<lb />children, friends and relatives.<lb /><lb />COMMUNICATING<lb />YOUR PARENTS<lb /><lb />This week Ts column is a<lb />message to children in the many<lb />families in our community.<lb />Although this column has been<lb />primarily an aid and an appeal to<lb />parents, it Ts the children Ts turn<lb />this week.<lb /><lb />Have you ever had a problem<lb />that you were afraid to discuss<lb />with your parents? Perhaps this<lb />feeling was based on fear of<lb />punishment, loss of affection, or<lb />loss of respect from your parents.<lb />Some of the roles of childhood<lb />and of being in a family are to<lb />learn to accept disciple, to obey,<lb />and to make the necessary<lb />changes in your behavior.<lb />Therefore the fear of punishment<lb />from your parents is a legitimate<lb />one. It is a parent Ts responsibili-<lb />ty to punish for improper<lb />behavior. Punishment is general-<lb />ly much more severe if parents<lb />learn from outsiders (teacher,<lb />neighbor, police, etc.) things that<lb />you should have trusted them<lb />enough to tell them.<lb /><lb />Consider for the moment the<lb />types of punishments that exist<lb />today. Compare these<lb />punishments to those of your<lb />parents. Police or legal punish-<lb />ment may be harsh. School "<lb />teachers and _ principals "<lb />punishments, may be imper-<lb />sonal. Such impersonal disciple<lb />can lower self esteem. Outside<lb /><lb />(Continued on page 11)<lb /><lb />WITH<lb /><lb /></p>

In these<lb />verses we give praise to the one<lb />and only God whose name is<lb />Allah. I prefer to call God by the<lb />name Allah. It is an Arabic word<lb />which means God, but it encom-<lb />passes all of God Ts attributes. The<lb />attributes are beautiful names<lb />such as the Beneficent, the Mer-<lb />ciful, the Master, the Most Lov-<lb />ing, the Protector, the Most Pa-<lb />tient. All in all God has 99 at-<lb />tributes, and the name Allah<lb />means all of them. When<lb />Muslims recite these verses we<lb />humbly identify ourselves to<lb />Allah, and we show understan-<lb />ding of His Glory and Power. We<lb />state that we only seek His<lb />assistance in our daily lives, and<lb />because we only turn to Him, we<lb />ask that He guide us on the true<lb />path.<lb /><lb />Life offers us many paths to<lb />follow. The choices are confusing.<lb />We are born into one path and<lb />may later in life choose another.<lb />Someone asked me why I chosed<lb />the Islamic faith. In retrospect I<lb />must say that I did not choose<lb />Islam, God chose Islam for me.<lb />Like most Americans, I grew up<lb />in a Christian home. I also attend-<lb />ed Christian schools. Parents disci-<lb />ple and counsel with love and<lb />understsanding. Each of<lb />these religions gave me valuable<lb />insight into the Nature of God and<lb />religion, but something was miss-<lb />ing. Finally, I decided to check<lb />out Islam. By this time, I had<lb />become involved in the Black<lb />movements of the late 60 Ts and<lb />early 70 Ts. From this experience<lb />I developed a love for myself and<lb />anything that was of Africa. I<lb />decided to join the Nation of<lb />Islam because it stressed that<lb />Black people should be proud of<lb />who they are, and should start<lb />building for self. Still, because of<lb />the way the Nation of Islam was<lb />structured, I did not get into the<lb />nitty-gritty of Al Islam. It was<lb />almost a year after joining the<lb />Nation of Islam that I read the<lb />Quran from cover to cover.<lb />The Quran totally overwhelm-<lb />ed me by its beauty and com-<lb />pleteness. After reading it I read<lb />the Bible, afterwards all I could<lb />do was cry. I knew then that my<lb />childhood prayers for understan-<lb />ding were answered. In my<lb />childhood I prayed for guidance,<lb />I did not know that I was asking<lb />for Islam. I took a round about<lb />way to discover His Light but He<lb />waited for me patiently. He brought<lb />me to a decision point and show-<lb />ed me where I had come from<lb />and what I had learned. Here my<lb />faith was put to the test, I had to<lb />face some very convincing<lb />arguments from all sides. Each<lb />time I weighed the arguments<lb /><lb />against the teachings of the<lb />Quran and each time the Quran<lb />would shine. Whenever I needed<lb />to know the answer to a puzzling<lb />question, it would guide me to a<lb />source of understanding. I was<lb />fighting for my spiritual salva-<lb />tion. Guidance is the reason for<lb />revelation. Allah allowed the<lb />previous scriptures to be<lb />tampered with to show mankind<lb />how low we would stoop to have<lb />our way. Prophet Muhammad<lb />knew that after him there would<lb />be no more prophets. There<lb />would be no other relevation after<lb />the Quran. If he failed to do his<lb />job, mankind would not have<lb />another chance for salvation.<lb /><lb />Without Allah Ts guidance we<lb />can not find the right path. But<lb />only those who humbly ask will<lb />receive it. I understand why my<lb />elders could not see and accept<lb />the truth.
