She then pulled<lb />me towards a blanket that she<lb />had spread out on the floor.<lb />Before I could pull away from her<lb />she was already down on her<lb />knees and pulling my arm begg-<lb />ing me to get down on the blanket<lb />with her. I was getting real<lb />scared by this time.<lb /><lb />While she was begging me to<lb />get down on the blanket with her,<lb />I kept pulling away from her try-<lb />ing to get to the front door, when<lb />she began to tell me about her<lb />friend who had been with colored<lb />boys. She was still tugging at my<lb />arm when she asked me why I<lb />was so scared and I told her that<lb />it was not part of my job to be<lb />with the customers. By this time<lb />she was begging and pulling on<lb />my shirt. She finally got her hand<lb />in the top of my pants, unbutton-<lb />ing them with one hand and and<lb />holding my left arm with the<lb />other. I began to plead with her<lb />not to make me do this because<lb />it could get me in a lot of trouble.<lb />So she finally pushed me over flat<lb />on my back and continued to un-<lb />fasten my clothes. As I lay there<lb />flat on my back not knowing<lb />whether to cooperate or resist her<lb />advances. I was afraid to resist<lb />and afraid to cooperate, so I just<lb />lay there with her sitting straddle<lb />on top of me urging me to take off<lb />my clothes. <lb />Mrs. Maye<lb />vestibule. If there is to be a choral<lb />service, the minister and choir<lb />enter the church from the rear<lb />and precede the funeral cortege.<lb />Directly after the choir and<lb />clergy, come the honorary<lb />pallbearers, two by two; then the<lb />coffin, and then the family"the<lb />chief mourners first, walking<lb />with whoever can offer the most<lb />comfort to him or her.<lb /><lb />AT THE FUNERAL HOME<lb />OR CHAPEL. Services are con-<lb />ducted in the chapel just as they<lb />would be in a church, although<lb />sometimes there is a private<lb />alcove to one side so that the<lb />family need not sit in the front<lb />pews.<lb /><lb />THE BURIAL. If the burial is<lb />in the churchyard or within walk-<lb />ing distance or the church, the<lb />congregation may follow the<lb />family to the graveside. Other-<lb />wise those attending the funeral,<lb />wherever the services are held,<lb />do not go the interment. The long<lb />line of vehicles that used to stand<lb />at the church, waiting to be fill-<lb />ed with mere acquaintances, is<lb />proper only for a _ public<lb />personage.<lb /><lb />CREMATION. Many people<lb />whose religions allow it, prefer<lb />the idea of cremation to burial.<lb />The service is exactly the same<lb />as that preceding a burial. The<lb />family, may or may not, as they<lb />wish, accompany the body to the<lb />crematorium. If they do, a very<lb />short service is held there also.<lb />The ashes are later delivered to<lb />the family to be disposed of in any<lb />way that the deceased would wish<lb />(as long as it is not contrary to<lb />any law).<lb /><lb />A MEMORIAL SERVICE. <lb />BY: CYNTHIA L. DOCTOR<lb /><lb />EXPLORING OUR WORLD<lb /><lb />Helping a growing child to<lb />relate to his surroundings is im-<lb />portant for growth and develop-<lb />ment. Children understand their<lb />world through hearing, listening,<lb />seeing, and touching. It is very<lb />important that children unders-<lb />tand what others say to them. Try<lb />the following exercises with your<lb />child:<lb /><lb />BIRTH TO 2 YEARS<lb />" Name the colors of things as<lb />you use them. For example, tell<lb />him he is wearing a yellow shirt<lb />and blue pants.<lb /><lb />" Point out the pictures in<lb />storybooks as you read to him.<lb />TWO TO THREE YEARS<lb /><lb />" Play games which involve<lb />direction words. Ask your child to<lb />put the cup on the table, or to put<lb />the spoon in the water.<lb /><lb />" Practice giving your child<lb /><lb />simple directions to follow. Ask<lb />her to bring you a book or to put<lb /><lb />a piece of paper in the garbage.<lb /><lb />SOCIAL DEVELOPMENT<lb /><lb />Social skills, such as getting<lb />along with others, sharing, and<lb />being accepted by others, are<lb />very important. Parents should<lb />begin early in a childTs life to en-<lb />courage the development of<lb />social skills, Children need to be<lb />around other children. In this<lb />way they learn to share and to<lb />play. Being with other children<lb />will allow them chances to<lb />develop their personalities. I believ-<lb />ed the stories were written for to-<lb />dayTs people. Later when I<lb />reverted to the faith of my<lb />forefathers, Al Islam, the story of<lb />Job took on a very different<lb />meaning. Please allow me to<lb />share with you some personal<lb />thoughts.<lb /><lb />THE BEST OF PLANNERS<lb /><lb />God showered the people of<lb />Africa with blessings. There was<lb />nothing they lacked. He gave<lb />them from His bounty all they<lb />could want and have. The people<lb />of Africa have always been an in-<lb />dustrious and studious people,<lb />they established learning centers<lb />throughout Africa. Almighty<lb />God, pleased with these beautiful<lb />people loved to sit on His throne<lb />watching them balance their<lb />everyday lives with his true<lb />worship.<lb /><lb />After Almighty God establish-<lb />ed Islam in Arabia, the Arab peo-<lb />ple brought it to Africa. Islam<lb />began to spread thru Africa like<lb />wildfire. Our African ancestors<lb />immediately accepted Islam<lb />recognizing its truth in accor-<lb />dance with their nature. The peo-<lb />ple of Africa, always too willing<lb />to please God, stopped at nothing<lb />to aid their Arab brethen in the<lb />righteous spread of Al Islam. It<lb />spread throughout North Africa,<lb />then down into the heart of Africa<lb />along the known trade routes. It<lb />crossed the Mediterranean and<lb />established a stronghold in<lb />southern Europe.<lb /><lb />Upon seeing this, SatanTs<lb />jealousy and hatred of mankind<lb />flared. Islam was moving too<lb />fast. He wanted to halt its pro-<lb />gress. Satan knew that through<lb />Islam, God had perfected His<lb />religion. If Islam became the<lb />main religion of Africa, there<lb />would be no stopping it and his<lb />plan ot see mankind doomed in<lb />Hell with him, would itself be<lb />doomed. Satan clutched his fist<lb />and swore to stop Islam by<lb />destroying Africa.<lb /><lb />Satan, ~overhearing GodTs<lb />praise of the African people, went<lb />to God and said, ~These people<lb />are steadfast in their faith<lb />because you are so good to them.<lb />You give them everything they<lb />want and leave them to want for<lb />nothing. Of the earth you have<lb />given them the best land. It<lb />overflows with your bounty. If<lb />you were to deny them half of this<lb />they would soon forget you. See<lb />how the people of the earth who<lb />live in the frigid areas associate<lb />other gods with you. Notice how<lb />the tribes who dwell on the big<lb />ocean worship the volcanoes that<lb />disrupt their otherwise peaceful<lb />lives. So will this African nation,<lb />who You think so much of, desert<lb />true worship if You would be har-<lb />sher on them. Let me have my<lb />way with them, I will show you<lb />just how ungrateful the most of<lb />them will be.<lb /><lb />God answered, ~You may do as<lb />you please with My servants, but<lb />I will not allow you to destroy<lb />them.<lb /><lb />So with GodTs permission Satan<lb />set out to use mankind one<lb />against the other. He used a peo-<lb />ple who loved the world more<lb />than they feared God to carry<lb />millions of AfricaTs people to a<lb />land far, far away, where the<lb />adhan ~the call of prayerTT could<lb />not reach them. The remaining of<lb />her people were overlorded by<lb />foreign masters who came to<lb />Africa to ravage and squander, in<lb />the name of Jesus and the name<lb />of God"Allah was hardly men-<lb />tioned. Try to<lb />avoid doing this. Many unfor-<lb />tunate things can happen to<lb />children left unattended in park-<lb />ed cars.<lb /><lb />GAMES TO GROW ON<lb />NAMING BODY PARTS<lb />Aim: To help children learn the<lb /><lb />names of their body parts, and to<lb />improve gross motor movement.<lb /><lb />How to Play: Sit facing your<lb />child.
