          <lb />~~<lb /><lb />The Institute of Outdoor Drama<lb />CB# 3240, NationsBank Plaza<lb />Chapel Hill, NC 27599-3240<lb /><lb />(919) 962-1328 Fax: (919) 962-4212<lb /><lb />September 18, 1995<lb /><lb />Ms. Marsha Warren, Executive Director<lb />The Paul Green Foundation<lb /><lb />P.O. Box 2624<lb /><lb />Chapel Hill, NC 27515<lb /><lb />Dear. Marsha:<lb /><lb />As you know, the PG Foundation generously allocated $2,500 to assist<lb /><lb />in meeting expenses involved in producing the Paul Green Seiminars at<lb /><lb />the 1995 Conference on Outdoor Drama, October 28, 1995. When we first<lb />began to plan the siminars, I suggested that this money be used to<lb /><lb />help meet travel expenses of those individuals who would be participating<lb />in leadership roles of the seiminars. You agreed this was a good plan,<lb />and so we have been operating accordingly.<lb /><lb />I have asked 10 people to participate in those leadership positions.<lb />With a $2,500 budget, we could pay each person $250. I have written<lb />each person explaining what their responsibilities will be during<lb /><lb />the seminars and to expect a $250 check from the PG Froundation which<lb />should be used to help meet travel expenses.<lb /><lb />Of these 10 people, four will be traveling at the expense of their<lb />companies:<lb /><lb />Fred Chappell<lb /><lb />Neil Hess<lb /><lb />scott Ray<lb /><lb />William Hardy<lb /><lb />Actually, I can't sware that each company will be meeting espenses to<lb />send those four individuals, but I feel fairly sure they will. You will<lb />see that I have suggested that these people sign those $250 checks over<lb />to their companies, and I have copied the general managers of their<lb />companies in an effort to make sure all comes out as it should.<lb /><lb />Two other people will also be traveling at the expense of their companies<lb />I suspect:<lb /><lb />Jokn Ahart<lb /><lb />Gayle Bowling<lb /><lb /></p>
        <pb facs="00056349_0002" />
        <p>Those two people also serve as general managers of their companies, and<lb />so I see no reason to send them a copy of correspondence that they will<lb />already be receiving. There are no built in checks and balances for<lb />these people. I trust they will sign over the $250 checks to their<lb />companies if their companies are indeed meeting their expenses.<lb /><lb />The other four people will not be having their expenses met by any<lb />company and they can just go ahead and cash their own checks.<lb /><lb />While this may sound somewhat complex, I elected:to do it this way to<lb /><lb />keep it simple for you. All you need do is send each of these individuals<lb />a check for $250. If they need to sign them over to their companies,<lb /><lb />its up to them to do so. In most cases their general managers will<lb /><lb />know this should be done. Only in two cases will there be no check<lb /><lb />or balance. But, I don't think there will be a problem.<lb /><lb />Everything is coming together and I think its going to be a splendid<lb />set of seminars. I am so confident good things will be said during<lb />them, I am going to make arrangements to have the comments recorded,<lb />transcribed, duplicated for distribution as the IOD sees fit, and that<lb />a full page story be published in U.S. Outdoor Drama which reports on<lb /><lb />Pati<lb /><lb />what sonny<lb />Thanks so much for all your help with this.<lb />pastas Pm<lb /><lb />_ Sincerely ,¥<lb /><lb />W)<lb /><lb />CeCe ws<lb />Director<lb /><lb />Just realized one exception to the distribution of checks:<lb /><lb />I did not mention anything about a $250 check in Fred Chappell's<lb />letter. The Lost Colony will be meeting his expenses to travel<lb /><lb />to the conference, but when I struck the deal for Fred to come<lb /><lb />to the conference with him and his general manager, Jon Summerton,<lb />I stated that the PGF would kick in $250 to help meet expenses, and<lb />that this check should go directly to the general managers of the<lb />company, with a note explaining what it is for. So, if you would<lb />make that one exception, I would be grateful.<lb /><lb />Thanks<lb /><lb /></p>
